CITY ATTORNEY REPORT REGARDING DENIAL KILBORN APPLICATION.TO REZONE LOT FROM R -2 TO R -3 (1166 Ebener Street, Lots 14 and 15, Block 2, W. W. & M.) City ;attorney Currie re- ported that if the property involved were owned by two separate owners there wouldn't be any question, but because of. our. present zoning laws, and the. fact that the prop- erty is owned by one person the property must be treated as. one. lot rather than two 35' lots. Since this property already has a single family dwelling on it there will not be sufficient front footahe left to build a duplex. The only way to. handle this situa- tion would be to rezone the property to R -3 which would. be .spot zoning in an R -2 area. Councilman Stout moved approval of the Planning Commission recommendation to deny application, seconded by Councilman. Jones and carried. VETERAN'S MEMORIAL COMMITTEE REPORT RECOMMENDING PURCHASE OF SEATS AND CURTAINS. The Com- mittee recommended that the contract for Opera Chairs be awarded to the Fred E. Turner Company on the basis of item #2, Opera. Chair Irwin #1242, for the. amount of $4.757.00. This amount_ to be modified by the addition of 3/4" backs and the omission of the side panels in, the.seat. It is further. understood that. the.arms will be approx- imately_ longer than the..sample submitted. It was also. recommended_. that. the low bid of the Fred_ E.. Turner Company_ fors tage cur- tains and riggings_in the amount of $2066.00 be accepted. Councilman Jones moved acceptance of the Committee's.report, seconded by Councilman Britschgi andcarried. COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI REPORT REGARDING THE YACHT HARBOR COMMITTEE. Councilman Britschgi reported that they had left the matter up to the Port. Commission in regard to boundary slough. Mr. Jain and. Mr.._.Allen. had worked out a plan. and plotted out the land. The survey work has been .completed, contour. maps will be prepared and amount of material to be dredged will be estimates which in turn will be turned over to the Port Commis- sion. It was felt .that Mr. Allen was a very capable man and he might be engaged to supervise the dredging operations. Councilman Britschgi then moved that call for bids be prepared after contacting Mr. Allen, the necessary funds to be transferred later. Motion seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. COUNCILMAN GRANGER REPORT ON CINNABAR. The following_ report "Notice Inviting Bids for Lease" was read by the Clerk. "Notice is hereby given that the City of Redwood City will.receive bids for a lease of a portion of_an. area owned by said city, commonly known and designated as 'Stulsaft Park',.for the purpose o.f.conducting.cinnabar mining operations thereon. Said bids. shall, be. sealed_ and delivered. to the office of the City Manager on or before.2:00 p.m, on the .22nd day of September, 1955, and will be opened and publicly .read .aloud.. in the.office of the City Manager on or about 2:00 p.m. of that day. I/ All bids shall specify the royalty to be paid, stating whether gross or net or any combination thereof, .and._ the bonus to. be paid in cash to the City of Redwood City for the execution of the lease. . Bidders arehereby notified that the lease will. contain, among other things, the following terms and conditions: 1. All mining operations must be conducted in accordance with good cinna- bar mining practices. 2. The successful bidder will be required to restore the surface of the land to a useable level condition.
