PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS DENIAL APPLICATION PERATA & FARRAR TO REZONE PORTION BLOCK 5, <br /> TRACT 559, REDWOOD MANOR (Florence & Bart) FROM R -2 to C -1 -H. Councilman Royer moved that <br /> a public hearing be set for three weeks, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS DENIAL APPLICATION CLYDE HENRY TO REZONE LOT 2, ARB. BLOCK <br /> 674, AND ARB. BLK. 9, FRIENDLY ACRES (Florence Street) TO C -1 -H. Councilman Granger <br /> moved that this be set for public hearing in three weeks, seconded by Councilman Stout <br /> and carried. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS DENIAL APPLICATION EARL MARBLE FOR VARIANCE TO REDUCE REAR YARD <br /> TO FIT STOCK HOUSE PLAN (Elm near Spring Street). Councilman Granger moved approval of <br /> Planning Commission's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll <br /> call, Councilman Spillers voting NO. <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDS APPROVAL GEORGE LAURENS TO RESUBDIVIDE LOT 12, BLOCK E, WOODSIDE <br /> ACRES INTO TWO LOTS SUBJECT TO DEEDING REAR TWENTY -SEVEN (27') FEET. City Engineer Jain <br /> suggested further condition that owner be required to pay for installation of sewer lateral. <br /> Councilman Spillers moved approval, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman <br /> Granger moved that the City Clerk be authorized to accept the Deed for the rear twenty -seven <br /> (27') feet, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS STOP SIGN AT HAVEN AVENUE AND BAY ROAD; STOP SIGN ON VALOTA ROAD <br /> AND ROOSEVELT AVENUE. Recommendation from the Traffic Study Committee was read by the <br /> City Clerk. Councilman Stout moved that the recommendation be approved, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Spillers and carried. City Attorney Currie to prepare the necessary resolution. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS: THOMAS TUITE, JR. APPEAL TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION GRANTING USE PERMIT TO <br /> DENNIS HOOKER TO CONDUCT BUYING AND SELLING OF SECOND HAND JEWELERY AND OTHER MERCHANDISE. <br /> Mr. Tuite objected strenously to the type of business being conducted. Discussion followed <br /> as to possibility of revoking license, afther which Councilman Granger moved that this be <br /> set for public hearing as soon as possible, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> Councilman Britschgi appealed to the council to make more strict regulations for the con- <br /> trol of the open hours of different stores in the city. City Clerk Dodge will mail notices <br /> to all property owners within a three hundred (300') foot radius. Councilman Granger moved <br /> that the City Attorney report as to the Council's jurisdiction in matters of this kind, at <br /> the next Council meeting, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> AN INVITATION TO ATTEND BROTHERHOOD WEEK MEETING FEBRUARY 23rd, RECEIVED FROM DENNIS WOODMAN <br /> was read and ordered filed. <br /> COUNTY SUPERVISORS RE: COUNTY -WIDE MASTER PLAN. Councilman Britschgi moved that this be referred <br /> to the Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br /> LETTER FROM MRS. LILLY WOFORD REGARDING INJURY RECEIVED IN FALL ON PERRY STREET was read. Coun- <br /> cilman Spillers moved that the claim be denied and referred to the insurance carrier, sec- <br /> onded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN RE: KENSINGTON SQUARE NO. 5, PROTESTS OF PULLIAM AND CABRAL. The city will <br /> construct small concrete block retaining wall to support the embankment. Councilman Granger II <br /> moved that this communication be filed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. City <br /> Engineer reported that payment of this project would come out of gas taxes. <br /> DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REQUEST CANCELLATION TAXES ON FREEWAY PROPERTY. Councilman Britschgi moved <br /> that request be granted, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />
