Councilman Royer moved introduction of ordinance amendment, seconded <br /> by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER ADVISES A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT HAS BEEN REACHED WITH MR. PERRY BYGDNES REGARDING <br /> VALUE OF PROPERTY NEEDED FOR WIDENING OF OAK KNOLL DRIVE. <br /> LETTER ADDRESSED TO THE CITY COUNCIL FROM E. V. ROBERTSON, 1990 SILVER STREET, SAN FRANCISCO, <br /> REGARDING THE INSTALLATION OF REFUSE DISPOSAL BOXES OR CONTAINERS AT APPROPRIATE LOCATIONS. <br /> These boxes will have desirable advertisements on the sides. Councilman Royer moved that <br /> the matter be referred to the Planning Commission, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br /> carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT A COMMITTEE BE APPOINTED BY THE MAYOR TO MEET WITH THE COUNTY <br /> OFFICERS TO DETERMINE THE BEST METHODS OF HANDLING THE POUND, seconded by Councilman Spill- <br /> ers and carried. Mayor Herkner appointed Councilmen Jones and Spillers on the Committee. <br /> CITY ENGINEa JAIN'REPORTED THAT SINCE THE LAST COUNCIL MEETING HE HAD MET WITH SEVERAL PROPER- <br /> TY OWNERS CONCERNING THE MATTER OF THE KENTFIELD, PALM, GORDON, VALOTA DRAINAGE AND STRFFT <br /> IMPROVEMENTS. It was a good meeting for the purpose of explaingin the procedure and what <br /> we had in mind for that area. The approximate cost of the street improvements would not <br /> exceed $13.00 to $13.50 per front foot. Storm drainage would not exceed $1.50 per 100 <br /> square foot. <br /> PROPOSED ROSE AVENUE EXTENSION. City Engineer Jain advised that petition had been received from <br /> property owners along the extension of Rose Avenue between Bay Road and Page Street for <br /> the construction of full improvements. The Planning Commission has approved the extension <br /> providing a turn around be provided at the end of the street in accordance with subdivision <br /> ordinance as this will be a cul -de -sac approximately eight hundred (800') feet long. The <br /> Redwood City subdivision ordinance does not permit cul -de -sacs more than two hundred and <br /> fifty (250') feet in length and in all cases requires a turn around of fifty (50') foot <br /> I/ radius. A total of 77.5% of the total front footage has been signed on the petition. City <br /> Engineer recommends preparation of plans and specifications provided all necessary land is <br /> deeded in fee to the City including necessary property for the standard turn around. He <br /> also requests authroization for the City Auditor to advance funds from the General Fund to <br /> be reimbursed from the assessment district. Councilman Britschgi moved approval, seconded <br /> by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />
