Councilman Jones moved continuation of denial as it is substandard for R -2 coning, <br /> seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman Spillers spoke on the question which was <br /> followed by more discussion..- The motion to deny was approved with Councilman Spillers <br /> voting NO. Councilman Hoye.r moved that. the. matter. be referre.d___to. the Planning Commission <br /> with the recommendation . that this property...be, allowed for two lots of single family <br /> dwellings, seconded by Councilman _Britschgi and carried. <br /> J. DINGMAN REQUEST INCREASE. WIDTH_OF :DRIVEWAY AND PERMISSION TO CEMENT PARKWAY AT 903 -911 <br /> ADAMS STREET. The Cl.erk..read a memorandum from City Engineer Jain wherein he stated that <br /> he could not justify this.variance as Mr. Dingman has plenty of room behind the property <br /> line to make necessary turn into garages, and many others have been denied this same <br /> request. Mr. Dingman wanted permission to widen his - driveway approach to garage from <br /> City regulation. of 23 feet. to 28 feet and to.place.concrete in the section between side- <br /> and property line.. After dicussion, Councilman Spillers moved that this be carried on <br /> the agenda for one _we..ek,.the Council to investigate the premises, seconded by Councilman <br /> Stout and carried. City Clerk Dodge asked permission to return the 410.00 check to Mr. <br /> Dingman as the deposit was not required as is the case when applying for a variance. <br /> Permission granted.. - <br /> CITY OF MENLO PARK REQUEST "CONSENT TO ANNEXATION" OF STENDELL & O'NEIL PROPERTY, which is <br /> within the 3 mile .r.adius..of the. City of _Redwood. City.limits.... Councilman Britschgi moved <br /> approval of the request,. seconded . by councilman .Spillers and .carried. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS, CITY COUNCIL. AND DEPARTMENT HEADS: <br /> Councilman Spillers.moved..that the.Fire Chief and the Building Inspector be instructed to <br /> proceed with the abatement of the Michel Building at 1416 Main Street, seconded by <br /> Councilman. City Manager Ronson ..said _ that he answered this letter <br /> the day after he received it. He stated that he was sure that the Engineering Department <br /> could provide the Commission with satisfactory descriptions of the area without making a <br /> special survey. This was followed by discussion as to whether or not the City Engineer <br /> should or should not make the survey. City Assessor Brophy stated that there was some <br /> property in thesrea that the City did not have deeds to. The motion was changed to <br /> include a survey be made. by the _City Engineer's office. Motion carried. <br /> Councilman.Spillers. asked the clerk_ to. read another, letter,. a.ddressed the same as his previous <br /> letter, from the..Park. and Recreation. .Commiss.ion....The.. letter is as follows: <br /> "At the present. _time. _.the. Park ; Department ..is..removing..existing sprinkler <br /> systems_from Hawes. Park #2. The Park and.Recreati.on.Commissions wishes <br /> to recommend that this sprinkler. system be installed on the property <br /> adjacent to the Firehouse. on Second Avenue and Bay Road. <br />
