Mrs. Barnes, 17th Avenue, appeared and informed the Council that there are <br /> many small children in that area, and the parents are very anxious to keep commercial zon- <br /> ing out. Councilman Granger asked the reasons for the Planning Commission's recommenda- <br /> tion. Mrs. Vera Eskin advised the Council that the Planning Commission was aware that <br /> there are two other pieces of property in the same area that is residential, and the <br /> rest of the property is C -1, and that 17 lots would more than take care of any commercial <br /> need in the area. These lots have not been built up yet. Councilman Spillers moved that <br /> the Public Hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Spil- <br /> lers moved that the Council uphold the Planning Commission's recommendation and deny the <br /> application, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> 1 <br /> PUBLIC HEARING - PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION TO DENY CLYDE HENRY APPLICATION TO REZONE <br /> LOT 2, ARB.
