This gentleman_ stated that he would be <br /> happy to go along with the extension if he could have his house moved on to another lot, <br /> of approximately the same size as. the one he now has, and if the house could be moved in <br /> the same condition as it now is. Councilman Royer stated that it is the opinion of the <br /> Committee that this is the only solution,. and that this could be done. Report of the Real <br /> II Estate Committee was accepted. Councilman Granger moved that this be referred to the pro- <br /> per department to take whatever steps necessary. The City Engineer advised the Council <br /> that the assessment area there is very small. It was the opinion of the Council that even <br /> if it .costs the City, it will be a worthwhile expense. Councilman Spillers seconded the <br /> motion of Councilman Granger which carried. <br /> REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE RE: PROPOSED EXTENSION OF EBENER STREET TO WOODSIDE ROAD. Councilman <br /> Royer stated that Mr. Cerqui is willing to sign the petition subject' to the following <br /> conditions: <br /> 1. That he be compensated for his footage that faces Woodside Road. He <br /> believes that Mr. Cupfer should receive the same compensation. <br /> 2. That his lots would have to have at least 100 ft. depth. <br /> Councilman Royer moved that Ebener Street should be carried on to Woodside Road, subject <br /> to the conditions of Mr. Cerqui, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. Mr. Cup - <br /> fer stated that his thoughts were the same as those of Mr. Cerqui and he would be happy <br /> with the conditions. <br /> PERSONAL APPEARANCE: <br /> HARRY J. HARDY REQUEST WATER CONNECTION, WILMINGTON WAY, EMERALD LAKE. Mr. Hardy appeared be- <br /> fore the.Council and stated that he owns three acres in that area and that there is now <br /> a house on the property with a water meter. He wishes to move his house from Menlo Park, <br /> a three bedroom house, to this property in Emerald Lake, He advised the Council that he <br /> has a good spring on this property and he uses this witha pump for the_yard of the present <br /> situated house, and he will use it for the yard of the house he intends to bring in, using <br /> the water connection only in the house. He said that even the laundry can be done with <br /> the water from the pump. The spring cannot be used in the house proper. Councilman Brit - <br /> schgi moved that the request be denied, seconded by Councilman Jones. Water Superintend- <br /> ent Winter informed the Council that there has never been two meters on this property. <br /> Mr. Hardy then requested that the meter at the present house be switched to the house he <br /> intends to move in, then in the event that the Health Department gives him a health certi- <br /> ficate, he will obtain a filtering system and use the spring for the present situated <br /> house. He stated that the Health Department will run tests on the spring for quantity and <br /> quality which will take approximately three weeks. Councilman Granger pointed out to Mr, <br /> Hardy that if the Health Department does not pass on the spring, he will not be able to <br /> get a meter for the present house. Councilman Royer moved that the original motion be <br /> amended to continue the matter for three weeks pending the report of the Health Department, <br /> seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call, Councilman Jones voting NO. <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN RE: BAY ROAD - CHARTER STREET IMPROVEMENTS. City Clerk Dodge read letter <br /> from Ampex Corporation requesting that the City erect sidewalk fronting Peninsula Motor <br /> Express Company for the convenience of the Ampex employees. Councilman Granger moved that <br /> Ampex Corporation and Peninsula Motor Express Company be advised that the Council will wel- <br /> come a petition from the people avvedted, and will take steps to satisfy the majority, <br /> seconded by Councilman Stout and carried on roll call. City Engineer informed the Council <br />
