RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS: COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS. COUNCILMAN JONES SUGGESTED THAT THE SPOT BETWEEN WILLOW, CHARTER AND KAYNYNE STREETS BE ANNEXED. II He stated that he will attempt to contact the people in the area with the thought of an- nexing the area. Councilman Royer moved that Councilman Jones be given the name of pro- perty owners in that area to follow through on, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI SUGGESTED THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY AND MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL MEET WITH TRUCKING COMPANIES to try to straighten out the truck Ordinance which is so often mis- understood. COUNCILMAN GRANGER MENTIONED THAT A SIGN COMPANY HAS CONTACTED HIM WITH THE THOUGHT OF GIVING THE CITY A BILLBOARD FOR ADVERTISING CIVIC AFFAIRS, to be placed at an appropriate spot in the City. COUNCILMAN GRANGER ALSO MENTIONED THAT A CROSSWALK ON MARSHALL STREET WHERE THE COURT HOUSE IS GOING UP IS BADLY NEEDED. Councilman Granger moved that this be referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee to look into the need for a cross walk on the corner of Marshall and Warren, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. COUNC ILMAN SPILLERS STATED THAT A CROSSWALK IS ALSO NEEDED AT THE REDWOOD CITY LAUNDRY AREA. Also referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. COUNCILMAN ROYER MET WITH MR. SPINAS REGARDING THE EXCHANGE OR SALE OF HAWES PARK, WHO STATED THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO GO ALONG WITH THE COUNCIL'S VIEWS. This will be taken up at the next study meeting. COUNCILMAN STOUT INQUIRED AS TO STATUS OF THE SUGGESTION REGARDING SERVICE CLUBS, ETC. DONATING' BENCHES. City Clerk will check in to the matter. COUNCILMAN STOUT REQUESTED THAT THE CITY MANAGER MAKE A NEW LAYOUT FOR TIE PARKING LOT BEHIND THE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. City Manager Rolison reported that this matter is under study of the Traffic Fact Finding Committee and is being held up until the parking lot behind the City Hall has been decided. CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE REQUESTED AUTHORIZATION TO EMPLOY APPRAISERS FOR THE EXTENSION OF MARSHALL STREET, AND ALSO FOR THE AREA IN BACK OF THE CITY HALL. CITY MANAGER ROLISON'S REPORT ON THE STATE PERSONNEL BOARD TO MAKE A SALARY SURVEY. Estimated cost *675.00 for the salary survey, and any additional work besides the salary survey, $60.00 for each day of work required. Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Manager II be given authority to work out a contract with the State for a salary survey; seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. CITY CLERK DODGE PRESENTED THE COUNCIL WITH APPLICATION OF CLIFTON HUDDLETON FOR DANCING AT CLIFF'S PIT, for teen - agers.
