PUBLIC HEARING ADOPT ORDINANCE 782 AMENDING ORDINANCE 631 SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE RE: FIRE ALARM <br /> SYSTEMS IN NEW SUBDIVISIONS. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. Hearing was <br /> noted and there being no protests Councilman Royer moved the hearing be closed, seconded <br /> by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Councilman Jones moved adoption of the ordinance <br /> seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spillers and Stout <br /> noted absent. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING ADOPT ORDINANCE 783 AMENDING TRAFFIC ORDINANCE AND ESTABLISHING "NO PARKING" <br /> ZONES, WHIPPLE FROM ARGUELLO TO STAFFORD, AND ON EAST SIDE OF MAIN STREET BETWEEN BUCK- <br /> EYE AND SPRUCE FROM 7 to 9 A. M. and 4 to 6 P. M. The affidavit of publication was or- <br /> dered filed. Hearing was noted and there being no protests Councilman Britschgi moved <br /> close of hearing, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. Councilman Britschgi then <br /> moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried on roll call, Councilmen Spil- <br /> lers and Stout noted absent. <br /> RECOMMENDATIONS AND SUGGESTIONS, CITY COUNCIL AND DEPARTMENT HEADS. <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI REQUESTED THE CITY MANAGER CONTACT MR. AL DAVIES IN AN EFFORT TO HAVE THE <br /> FENCE CONSTRUCTED ON HIS PROPERTY FACING FRANKLIN STREET as agreed upon some time ago. <br /> Agenda January 17th. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER REQUESTED AN ESTIMATE TO IMPROVE THE CONDITION OF THE CITY HALL DOORS. City <br /> Manager reported that he had received an estimate of $165.00 to improve the surface of the <br /> doors and lacquering. This work cannot be done, however, until the weather has improved. <br /> An estimate has been received amounting to $3,500.00 to replace the present doors with glass <br /> aluminum franed doors. Councilman Royer moved that City Manager proceed with the improve- <br /> ment at a price of $165.00 when the weather permits. This price includes the door to the <br /> Police Department. Motion seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER SUGGESTED THAT THE CITY ATTORNEY PREPARE THE NECESSARY LEGAL STEPS TO TAKE <br /> RESTAURANT APPLICATIONS OUT OF THE COUNCIL HANDS AND PLACED IN THE PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> who will be able to decide as to proper locations and to decide the question of serving <br /> liquor. If approved by the Planning Commission the Building Inspector can then proceed <br /> without further delay. Councilman Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and <br /> carried. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE STATED THAT RESOLUTION 1818 COVERING ANNEXATION OF DRAINAGE EASEMENT FOR <br /> INDUSTRIAL ROAD had been prepared and was ready for adoption. Councilman Jones offered <br /> same and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call, <br /> Councilmen Spillers and Stout noted absent. <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN STATED THAT CIVIL ENGINEER CHARLES RANDLETT HAD SUBMITTED A TENTATIVE LAY- <br /> OUT OF TEE PARKING AREA AT THE REAR OF THE CITY HALL and was anxious to have the City Coun- <br /> cil study same as promptly as possible. This will be considered at the Wednesday, January <br /> 5th study meeting. <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON SUBMITTED RECOMMENDATION OF THE WEED ABATEMENT INVESTIGATION COMMITTEE <br /> requesting cancellation of charges against Arb. Blk. 14.6, Lot 9 (County Property) and <br /> erroneously billed to Douglass & Woodhouse. Councilman Britschgi moved approval, seconded <br /> by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER REQUESTED A CHECK OF WEED ABATEMENT CHARGES AGAINST STEPHEN SASFY, IN THE <br /> 1500 BLOCK OF KENTFIELD. <br /> MAYOR HERKNER COMMENTED ON THE MEETING OF THE LEAGUE COMMITTEE ON AIR POLLUTION CONTROL LEGISLA- <br /> tion. A meeting consisting of representatives throughout the state met on December 17th. <br />
