on the agenda for the next meeting, no second. <br /> LETTER FROM ANNA MEUSSDORFFER, CORNER MAIN AND PINE STREETS, was read by City Clerk, <br /> in which she states that financially she is unable to make the improvements sug- <br /> gested, since she has just finished paying for other improvements and also taxes. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved request for extension be denied, seconded by Council- <br /> man Jones and carried on roll call. <br /> MAXINE SHAFF, 2729 JEFFERSON AVENUE, sent a letter to the Council which stated that her <br /> husband would be in the hospital for quite a while and at the present time, the suggested <br /> improvements were impossible, requesting an extension of three months. Councilman Granger <br /> moved that if a medical certificate could be presented tothe effect that the husband is <br /> in the hospital, then extension should be allowed, seconded by Councilman Spillers and <br /> carried on roll call. <br /> AUTHORIZE MAYOR HERKNER AND CITY CLERK DODGE TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT RE: PLANTING TREES ON THE <br /> SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY PROPERTY. Councilman Granger moved authority be granted, seconded <br /> by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Granger moved that when the agreement is ap- <br /> proved, the City Manager direct the Park Department to proceed, seconded by Councilman <br /> Britschgi and carried. <br /> CALIFORNIA WATER COMPANY REQUEST FOR EXCAVATION PERMIT FOR INSTALLATION OF WATER APPROXIMATELY <br /> 45 FEET FROM INTERSECTION OF EDGEWOOD ROAD AND ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS TO CENTER LINE OF <br /> CORDILLERAS CREEK. City Attorney Currie advised that this may require franchise, and the <br /> Water Company agreed to furnish if necessary. Councilman Granger moved that they be auth- <br /> orized to proceed providing it meets with the approval of the City Engineer, seconded by <br /> Councilman Stout and carried. City Engineer stated that 'the Water Company may have to get <br /> easement along Hetch- Hetchy, and if they do, and when the Proposed City Reservoir is built <br /> the City might be allowed to use the same easement. <br /> CLAIMS NO. 15858 TO N0. 16016, TOTALING $37,224.98, were presented to the Council for payment. <br /> Councilman Stout moved that the bills be paid, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED ADJOURNMENT, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> ADJOURNED 11:15 P.
