Councilman Stout moved that the bid of Towne Motors be accepted, seconded <br /> by Councilman Jones and carried. - <br /> AUTOMOBILE FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT AND AUTOMOBILE FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT. City Clerk Dodge read let- <br /> ter from City Manager Rolison which gave low bid of $1,867.20, Ferris Miles, for Fire De- <br /> - partment car and low bid of $1,786.29, Hoyt Pontiac for Police Department car. The total <br /> of the two low bids is $3,653.49. Ferris Miles on their bid form offered to furnish both <br /> cars for $3,600.00, a savings of $53.49. After some discussion as to whether the bid of <br /> Ferris Miles for the combined price of two autos was in order, Councilman Stout moved that <br /> the recommendation of City Manager be accepted for purchase of two cars as offered at a <br /> price of $3,600.00. Motion lost for lack of a second. Councilman Granger requested that <br /> the City Attorney advise the Council as to the - legality of the bid for the combined price. <br /> City Attorney stated that since the advertisement for bids read that bids for one or both <br /> cars would be accepted, the bid of Ferris Miles was a legitimate bid. Councilman Granger <br /> seconded the restated motion of Councilman Stout to accept bid of Ferris Miles. Motion <br /> Carried. <br /> ATTORNEY DABA RE: SIDEWALK REPAIR NOTICE, 910 EDGEWOOD ROAD. City Clerk read letter from At- <br /> torney Daba, representing Lillian Dresden, filing protest to sidewalk repair notice, or <br /> if notice is in order, an appeal for extension. City Attorney advised that the sidewalk <br /> ordinance covers the notice, and the notice is in order. City Engineer stated that every- <br /> one in the area will be served with notice of sidewalk repair, and that the notice repre- <br /> sents the same policy used throughout the City. Councilman Stout moved that the proper <br /> department answer the letter pointing out the policy and the pertinent facts of our or- <br /> dinance, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. Councilman Britschgi stated that <br /> II the motion should include that the appeal be denied. Councilman Granger suggested that <br /> the appeal be placed on the agenda and that a seven day extension be granted until March <br /> 14th. After further discussion, Councilman Britschgi moved that appe41 be denied, second- <br /> ed by Councilman Jones and-carried. <br /> PENINSULA CELEBRATION ASSOCIATION RE: LEASING RODEO GROUNDS FOR HARD -TOP RACES.
