After some dis- cussion as to whether or not the 72 foot set -back would be satisfactory, Councilman Granger mo- ved that the original decision of the Planning Commission be upheld. Councilman Royer suggested that the motion include acceptance of the 7i foot set -back. This condition was added to the motion which was seconded by Councilman Spillers. City Attorney Currie advised the Coun- cil that this was a conditional approval on delivery of deed for 7- foot set -back. Build- ing permit will be granted upon receipt of deed. Motion carried. WIDOW'S CLUB, INC. Councilman Granger requested that the City Clerk read excerpts from min- utes of January 17th and January 24th, regarding his attitude toward the Widow's Club. Mrs. V. Tepfer, 629 Arlington Road, Redwood City, appeared for the Club, requesting that the Council seriously consider the piece of land on Main Street between Elm and Beech, for the site to build a clubhouse for the use of the Widow's Club and also for the use of the City if they so desire. Councilman Royer requested that the report from the Park and Recreation Commission be read. City Clerk read letter from Park and Recreation Com- mission which referred the matter to the , Council stating that the title to the land in question is not clear. Councilman Stout moved that the matter be referred to the City Attorney for report and recommendation to the Council, seconded by Councilman Spillers who suggested an addition to the motion that if.all is legally in order, it be referred to the Park and Recreation Commission to be sure that the land is not needed for park purposes. Original motion was so amended, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. The Widow's Club was accompanied by their Attorney Mrs. Rouse. INTRODUCE ORDINANCE REZONING PORTION OF LOT 2, BLOCK B, W. W. & M. (Al Garfoldi). Councilman 1 Spillers offered Ordinance for introduction, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. APPOINT MEMBER MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT. H. BEEGER TERM EXPIRING. Councilman Granger moved that Mr. Beeger be re- appointed as member of Mosquito Abatement District, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. PETITION FOR SEWER AND WATER FOR HIGHLANDS TERRITORY NO. 1. Letter from City Engineer's office read, in which he recommended that they be authorized to have plans and specifications prepared, and an assessment district established for the improvements consisting of installation of sanitary sewer mains, water mains, fire hydrants, etc., in the area West and North of Jefferson Avenue, known as Highlands Territory No. 1. Councilman Spillers moved acceptance of the City Engineer's recommendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Engineer Jain advised the Council that a rough check had been made, and the project represents a *200,000.00 job, consisting of 17,000 feet of sewer and 11,000 feet of water main. Mr. Jain will try to get the job done this summer. CARL ROSENE REQUEST FOR 90 DAY EXTENSION OF SIDEWALK NOTICE. Letter from Mr. Rosene read, in which he requests extension due to the fact that the Planning Commission is now hold - ing public hearings on the rezoning of this property, and that the planned widening of Jefferson Avenue in all probability would cause this sidewalk to be torn up if it is built in continuity with the existing sidewalk. Councilman Spillers moved that extension be granted, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Granger questioned City Engineer who stated that in his opinion the request was justified.
