i' <br /> r �. <br /> Phoenix presented a map of the proposed extension to the Council. Councilman Royer, Chair- <br /> man of the Real Estate Committee, reviewed the committee's report of two weeks ago. Engine- <br /> er Jain advised the Council that if this extension were approved, the property will have to <br /> be appraised, the Council will have to take action to allocate sufficient funds estimated <br /> at $5,325.00 for improvement across the Hetch Hetchy right of way. Councilman Royer stated <br /> II that the Cerqui property was noted on the petition only as an address. Mr. Cerqui will <br /> correct this by placing the lot and block number of his property and initialing same. <br /> He stated that the people are willing to sign a petition if everything comes out as they <br /> expect. Councilman Britschgi moved that the entire matter be turned over to the City <br /> Manager, City Engineer and City Attorney to work out all of the details for report back <br /> at the next Council meeting, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Engineer Jain stated <br /> that there is no petition for the acquisition of the property, and that he can not do much <br /> on the project until certain things are determined. After some discussion regarding the <br /> circulation of a new petition to show clearly the City's contribution and also to show <br /> exactly what the project is, Councilman Britschgi moved that the Council give informal <br /> approval of the City assuming obligation of their portion of the cost of Hetch Hetchy <br /> project, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Mr. Simon Peters advised he had spent <br /> considerable time in securing signatures to the original petition, and stated further, <br /> he would do everything possible to secure the necessary signatures to new petition within <br /> the next week. <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER'S REPORT RE: PROPOSED WATER RESERVOIR IN THE VICINITY OF SEQUOIA HOSPITAL. <br /> Councilman Royer reported that he has discussed the purchase of the property with the <br /> owner and if the City is willing to get appraisal of property and make the proposal, the <br /> owner is open for an offer. Councilman Royer moved that the City Attorney be authorized <br /> to obtain appraisal which has already been made, or have a new appraisal made, and report <br /> back to the council, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON'S REPORT ON PRESENT STATUS OF PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1. City Manager Rolison <br /> reported that the plans are being prepared under the direction of the City Engineer by a <br /> private engineer and there is no reason to feel that there will be a delay in the project. <br /> Any delay which might occur would be in the acquisition of some property which involves <br /> about fifteen parcels of property. <br /> RESOLUTION TRANSFER $300.00 TO COVER COST OF CREEK SPRAYING. Authorized December 6, 1 954. <br /> Councilman Britschgi offered RESOLUTION NO. 1843 for adoption, seconded by Councilman <br /> Spillers and carried on roll call. <br /> RESOLUTION TRANSFER $1 : 750.00 TO RECREATION DEPARTMENT SUPPLIES AND SERVICES. Letter from City <br /> Manager was read recommending that the transfer be approved, due to the fact that an item <br /> of $768.00 for miscellaneous repairs had been out from the operating budget, and also an <br /> amount to cover the cost of operating the new heating plant at the swimming pool. Letter <br /> from Mr. Alfred Morton, Director of Recreation, outlingin the expenses as follows: <br /> Miscellaneous Repairs cut from 1954 -1955 Budget $ 768.00 <br /> Unanticipated Gas Consumption at Swimming Pool 390.00 <br /> Unanticipated Pump Repairs at Swimming Pool 139.77 <br /> Uanticipated Water Meter Installation 200.00 <br /> Over Expenditure of Water Consumption 2 0.00 <br /> TOTAL 1,7 0.00* <br /> Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 1844 and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman <br /> Stout and carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi voting NO. Stating that if an am- <br /> ount is taken from the budget for the year, the department should try to get along without <br /> it. <br />
