3. The facilities of No. 1 diamond at Hawes Park be moved by school at <br /> no expense to the City. <br /> 4. City to have possession of Hawes Park until October lst. <br /> - So moved by Councilman Royer, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. - <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER REQUESTED INFORMATION AS TO FOOT TRAFFIC AT WINSLOW AND WARREN. Captain <br /> Faulstich reported that cross walks are being installed. - <br /> COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED APPOINTMENT OF HARRY DAY FOR THE PERSONNEL BOARD. Mr. Day has lived <br /> in Redwood City for twenty years. Motion seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN SPILLERS MOVED THAT THE TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE CONSIDER CROSSWALKS AT HOP - <br /> KINS AND EL CAMINO REAL, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. - <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI MOVED THAT THE NAME OF GLENNON WAY BE ABANDONED IN ITS PRESENT LOCATION <br /> between Industrial Way and Bayshore and a more suitable location be found for the name <br /> of Glennon Way, honoring Mrs. Mamie Glennon. City Attorney will take the necessary steps <br /> to carry out the wishes of the Council. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> A new name for the street was left to the discretion of the City Engineer. <br /> THE CITY MANAGER'S NEWS LETTER WAS REFERRED TO BY COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI CONCERNING PLANS AND <br /> SPECIFICATIONS FOR RESURFACING OF JEFFERSON AVENUE. City Engineer informed the Council <br /> • <br /> that bids will be opened on Wednesday, March 23rd. <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI SUGGESTED THAT THE REQUEST FOR A LOADING ZONE AT THE FORRESTERS HALL <br /> PREFERRED ON MAPLE STREET, be referred to the Traffic Fact Finding Committee. <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI REQUESTED INFORMATION REGARDING VARIANCES, stating that the owner of a <br /> residence on Hopkins and Hudson some twenty years old, with an old type garage, wants to <br /> build about six feet out from the front of his garage. He is unable to secure permit from <br /> the Building Department as he is only three feet from the property line. This can be <br /> done by variance subject to approval of the Planning Commission. Councilman Britschgi <br /> moved that this be referred to the proper authority so that the man can go ahead with <br /> his building, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> MAYOR HERKNER COMMENDED THE POLICE RESERVE FOR THE OUTSTANDING WORK THAT THEY HAVE DONE, <br /> and suggested -that $100.00 be appropriated to assist this organization on a safety <br /> project of providing reflecting scotch tape for bicycles. Councilman Spillers offered <br /> -RESOLUTION 184.6 and moved adoption, allocating $100.00 to the Police Department Sup- <br /> plies and Services, earmarked for this purpose, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and <br /> carried on roll call. <br /> LETTER FROM THE STANFORD CREW ASSOCIATION was read in which they invited the Council members <br /> to attend the Stanford - Oregon State Crew Race, 3:00 P. M., Tuesday,. March 22, 1955 at <br /> the Redwood City Yacht Harbor. <br /> COUNCILMAN SPILLERS MOVED THAT CLAIMS No. 16083 TO NO. 16168 IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,24.2.07 be <br /> approved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and- carried. <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI MOVED ADJOURNMENT, seconded by Councilman Spillers. <br /> ADJOURNMENT AT 11:15 P.
