Councilman Royer offered RESOLUTION 1851 approving appli- <br /> cation and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. <br /> Councilman Britschgi was noted absent. Fire Chief Lodi stated that there are no objec- <br /> tions by the Fire Department to this variance. <br /> APPROVAL MR. City Attorney Currie advised the Council that a variance of <br /> ten (10 ") inches set -back in side yard is included in the application. Councilman Spil- <br /> lers offered RESOLUTION 1852 authorizing variance and moved its adoption, seconded by <br /> Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br /> COMMUNICATIONS: <br /> POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT RE: STATUS OF POST OFFICE BUILDING. Letter from the Assistant Post <br /> Master General dated March 22, 1955, in San Francisco, stating that there are no im- <br /> minent plans for the near future site of the Post Office Building. The letter was <br /> ordered filed. <br /> HEALTH DEPARTMENT ENGINEER HOWELL RE: ANALYSIS OF WATER FOR H. J. HARDY, EMERALD LAKE. <br /> Letter from the County Department of Public Health and Welfare, Mr. Eugene M. Howell, <br /> Public Health Engineer, stated that as requested by the City Council, samples of spring <br /> located on the property of Mr. Harry J. Hardy on Wilmington Way in the Emerald Lake area <br /> were taken indicating that contamination was present, due to the presence of coliform <br /> organisms. He recommended that the spring not be used for domestic purposes. Councilman <br /> Royer moved denial of Mr. Hardy's application, Health Department to be notified of the <br /> Council's action and requested to issue no further permits unless water is available and <br /> approved by the Council, with copy of letter to Mr. Hardy.
