Among the bids above the Chevrolet is equip- <br /> ped with a 12 volt system whereas the Ford and Plymouth are equipped with the 6 volt sys- <br /> tem. Therefore, if the purchase of the Chevrolet is contemplated the amount of $319.80 <br /> will have to be provided for the above mentioned change -over. After full discussion and <br /> upon the recommendation of the City Manager, Councilman Royer moved that the bid of Towne <br /> Motor Company for the 1955 Ford -6 Sedan at the net price of $853.36 which includes the cost <br /> of the automatic transmission. Councilman Britschgi moved introduction of Ordinance, sec- <br /> onded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION RE: PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT BY STATE AT EL CAMINO <br /> REAL AND INTERSECTION WITH OAKWOOD BOULEVARD AND DUMBARTON AVENUE. The Traffic Committee <br /> advised that the state will install a flashing center suspended over -head light and in <br /> addition they will construct a continuous 4. foot wide curbed barrier along the center of <br /> El Camino Real from the south city limits to 100 feet north of Nottingham Avenue, closing <br /> the openings at Nottingham and Buckingham intersections. In accordance with established <br /> policy it is proposed that the cost of the electric work be financed on the basis of half <br /> payment by the State, one - fourth by the County and one- fourth by the City amounting to <br /> $700.00. Councilman Granger requested that the records indicate that the Council is not <br /> entirely satisfied with this installation and suggested that the State be advised that if <br /> and when conditions warrant regular signals that they give consideration to crediting the <br /> City with the $700.00 now being expended. Councilman Royer then moved approval of the <br /> Traffic Committee recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> TRAFFIC FACT FINDING COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION RE: USE OF LOADING ZONES IN BUSINESS DISTRICT FOR <br /> PARKING AFTER HOURS.
