Letter from City Manager recommending the above was read. Councilman Spillers moved approval of the recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried on roll call. II RECOMMEND RELOCATE LOADING ZONE ON SOUTH SIDE OF MAPLE STREET EAST OF DRIVEWAY ENTRANCE TO FERRIS MILES. Letter of recommendation from City Manager read. Councilman Spillers moved appro- val of the recommendation, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried. RECOMMEND ESTABLISH SIX STOP SIGNS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS. The stop signs will be located at: II Lenolt Street at each of its intersections with "D" Street. On "D" Street at each of its intersections with Arguello Street. On Walnut Street at each of its intersections with Broadway. On Stambaugh Street at each of its intersections with Chestnut Street. On Massachusetts Avenue at each of its intersections with Maddux Drive. One Stop Sign on the northwest corner of Maple Street at its intersection with Broadway. Councilman Spillers moved that the City Attorney be directed to prepare Resolution for introduction, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. COMMUNICATIONS PALO ALOT SHRINE REQUEST PERMIT TO CONDUCT SHRINE CIRCUS AT SEQUOIA HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL FIELD ON JULY 15, 16 and 17. Councilman Spillers moved that the permit be granted, seconded by Councilman Stout. The letter from the Organization was read in which they requested a free permit. Councilman Granger suggested that this be carried over for one week and that some- one be called upon to get information regarding the circus. A Use Permit must be obtained from the Planning Commission. Councilman Spillers moved that the matter be referred to the City Manager for report back next Monday night, seconded by Councilman Granger. Councilman Stout informed the Council that the circus is for the benefit of the Crippled Children in hospitals. MRS. GLENORE CRAIG ALLEGING INJURIES AND DAMAGE TO CAR IN COLLISION WITH CITY TRUCK. Letter read. Councilman Spillers moved denial and refer to insurance carrier, seconded by Coun- cilman Britschgi and carried. WM. PHOENIX RE: CONDITION OF SIDEWALK FRONTING COAST ELECTRIC CO., 1783 BROADWAY. Letter from Mr. Phoenix advising the Council of the condition of the sidewalk was read. City Engineer stated that the contractor who put in the sidewalk met specification requirements at the time the sidewalk was installed, but as long as the water can get under the sidewalk, this will happen again and again. Repair to this will cost approximately $500.00 or $600.00. If the City does the job, there should be a waiver protecting the City against further demands. Engineer Jain stated that it was recommended to the owner of the property that he seal off the area on his own property. This has not been done, and water will continue II to get under sidewalk. Councilman Granger moved that this be referred back to the City Engineer for further study to see if anything can be done to make this area presentable. Motion seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. COUNCILMAN STOUT REQUESTED THAT THE MATTER OF YOUTH BUILDING BE PLACED ON THE AGENDA for a study meeting.
