PHOENIX RE: CONDITION OF SIDEWALK FRONTING COAST ELECTRIC CO., 1783 BROADWAY. Letter from
Mr. Phoenix advising the Council of the condition of the sidewalk was read. City Engineer
stated that the contractor who put in the sidewalk met specification requirements at the
time the sidewalk was installed, but as long as the water can get under the sidewalk, this
will happen again and again. Repair to this will cost approximately $500.00 or $600.00.
If the City does the job, there should be a waiver protecting the City against further
demands. Engineer Jain stated that it was recommended to the owner of the property that
he seal off the area on his own property. This has not been done, and water will continue
II to get under sidewalk.
