St�ategic Initiative: <br /> Youth <br /> Strate�ic Goals <br /> • Develop a youth website providing a central source of information on <br /> citywide youth services, by June 30, 2011 <br /> A staff team has been formed and has met with Information Technology Dcvclop and maintain <br /> staff to begin the process of developing a website. Given staff programs that support <br /> resources the first iteration will be a central page that easily links to `�outh dcvclopmcnt, <br /> existing city services for youth. Future plans may include opportunities cducation, hcalth, and <br /> and services outside city-supported youth services. cnrichmcnt <br /> • Refer eligible participants and provide tattoo removal programs and <br /> family counseling services to 40 former gang members, by June 30, <br /> 2011 <br /> The police department has provided tattoo removal and family Crcatc and nurturc <br /> counseling services to 63 individuals for this fiscal year. The services partncrships and <br /> and counseling will continue to be offered depending on demand. In collaboration that providc <br /> exchange for community service, the program provides an opportunity for critical youth scrviccs <br /> for those who have removed themselves from gangs to also and child carc <br /> permanently remove the tattoos that were a part of their past life. <br /> Objective completed. <br /> Create and nurture partnerships and collaboration that provide for <br /> critical youth services and child care. <br /> Engagc youth <br /> • Through the City's Youth Agenda, develop an annual action plan respcctfull`�, <br /> fostering implementation of inter-departmental youth goals and that as an intcgral part <br /> aligns with Redwood City 2020's strategic plan, by September 30 of of thc Rcdwood Cit`� <br /> each year community <br /> Redwood City 2020 and John Gardner Center staff presented Redwood <br /> City 2020's Community Youth Development Plan to City staff and <br /> discussed the need for inter-departmental and inter-agency alignment in <br /> goals, definitions of success and baseline indicators. All agreed that it is <br /> important to continuously seek collaborative opportunities (the use of <br /> facilities is one example). Work on the aligned Youth Strategic Plan will <br /> begin in the Spring of 2011, and staff will collaborate with Redwood City <br /> 2020 in the process. <br />
