Charles Jany
May 19, 2011
Page 3
Relevant Project Experience
Canada College Faculty /Staff Housing Project —San Mateo County Community
College District
ICF prepared the IS /MND for a proposed 60 -unit multi - family rental housing development for
SMCCCD faculty and staff on a 3.3 -acre "in fill" site located within the Canada College campus.
The project site was proposed for detachment from the Town of Woodside and the Woodside Fire
Protection District and annexation into the adjoining City of Redwood City, requiring multiple
agency approvals, including approval by the Redwood City Planning Commission of the pre -
zoning and Planned Development Permit. The proposed IS /MND was adopted by SMCCCD
Board of Trustees in September 2007. ICF subsequently prepared an addendum to be
considered by the City in conjunction with the IS /MND when it took action on the project. The
project, later renamed the Canada Vista Apartments, was eventually constructed and was
opened to tenants in August 2010.
Mariposa Park Project —City of Mountain View
ICF prepared the IS /MND evaluating the City of Mountain View's proposal to demolish eight
existing, vacant houses on a 0.6 -acre site and to convert the lots into a neighborhood "mini- park."
The City, in coordination with a landscape architect and with public input, developed three
conceptual park designs, from which a final preferred conceptual park plan was selected. The
IS /MND evaluated the environmental effects of both demolishing the houses, which were
constructed between 1910 and 1948, and constructing a park facility in an established residential
neighborhood. Key environmental issues included changes in the visual character of the project
site, increases in noise and traffic, and removal of several protected heritage size trees. The
IS /MND was written in approximately one month and was approved and certified by the City in
May 2010.
Villa Street Townhomes IS—City of Mountain View, California
ICF conducted a multidisciplinary analysis to support preparation of an initial study for the Villa
Street Townhomes project in Mountain View. The proposed project included rezoning a 2.6 -acre
site to R -3, demolishing several industrial buildings and 4 single family homes on the site, and
constructing 54 new townhomes. The project site is a Superfund site adjacent to railroad tracks in
a historical area of Mountain View. Environmental issues included hazardous materials, cultural
resources, and noise and vibration. The noise and vibration analysis was based on an analysis
conducted by Charles M Salter Associates. Additionally, the project included 2 -story bungalow
style units on the street front to provide a transition to the adjacent single family homes.
North San Pedro Infrastructure Construction EA —City of San Jose,
California
