<br />.' <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Human Services Agency <br />County of San Mateo <br /> <br />NOTICE OF FUNDING AVAilABiliTY <br /> <br />The County of San Mateo Office of Housing is pleased to announce the availability of approximately $4.8 million for <br />applications for housing and community development programs and projects in FY 2005-06. The funding amount is <br />approximate based on the 2004-05 allocations, as Congress has yet to adopt a final budget. <br /> <br />Funds under this NOF A are provided under three programs: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG); HOME <br />Investment Partnerships (HOME); and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG). <br /> <br />NOFA Funding Goals: Successful applications must meet one of the following priorities: <br /> <br />A. Housing Development/Housing Rehabilitation <br /> <br />1. Development of new, and acquisition/rehabilitation of existing, peffi1anent and transitional affordable housing for <br />Extremely Low and Very Low Income individuals, families, and persons with special needs (On-site amenities to <br />support occupants are encouraged.) <br /> <br />2, Conversion or rehabilitation of existing structures for the purpose of providing permanent or transitional <br />supportive housing. <br /> <br />3. Rehabilitation programs for lower income homeowners or tenants, with the improvements to focus on health & <br />safety, housing quality standards, and/or access modifications. <br /> <br />B. Public Services Programs (including Shelter Operations & Fair Housing Enforcement) <br /> <br />1. Support for human service programs providing education, infoffi1ation, or resources essential to the provision of <br />housing or shelter for Extremely Low and Very Low Income households or persons with special needs. <br /> <br />2. Operational and essential service expenses for emergency shelters and transitional housing programs for <br />individuals and families. <br /> <br />3. Programs which provide housing-related public services. <br /> <br />C. Community & Economic Development (including public facilities & micro-enterprise assistance) <br /> <br />1. Development or rehabilitation of emergency shelters or facilities providing service-enriched supportive housing <br />for persons with special needs. <br /> <br />2. Development or rehabilitation of affordable childcare facilities or youth facilities serving lower income <br />individuals and households. <br /> <br />3. Activities which result in the creation or retention of penn anent employment opportunities for lower income <br />persons. <br />
