ì . A-2-

the Zoning Ordinance, is to allow facilities which provide for the personal communications
needs of residents of the City and region, and of local business and government, while
minimizing adverse visual and operational effects of such facilities through appropriate
design, siting, and screening. Where appropriate the City encourages consolidation of
facilities at one site, such as placing multiple service providers on one monopole, within
one enclosure, or on the same building parapet. The placement of the subject facilities, as
conditioned by the Use Permit, meet the requirements of the Redwood City Zoning
Ordinance Article 38.

Radiation associated with these types of installations is subject to review by the Federal
Communications Commission (F.C.C.), and not local jurisdictions. The Planning
Department makes the F.C.C.'s radiation information available to the public during the
processing of each application for wireless facilities. In this case, it should be noted that thé
Radio Frequency report concludes that the highest at-ground radiation level for both the
existing and proposed facilities would be 1 % of the Federal standard.

Compliance with conditions related the Verizon Wireless are limited to the Verizon Use
Permit and have no additional baring on any subsequent applications; therefore any
"contract" or violation thereof shall be limited to the Verizon Wireless application.

2/28/05

2
