6.1.13. - Page 40 <br />TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) LOCAL 521 <br />ARTICLE 17 -UNIFORM REIMBURSEMENT <br />17.2 Safety Boots <br />17.2.1 Workers who are required by the City to wear steel toed and/or ankle supported <br />safety shoes/boots, or to work with asphalt as a usual and regular job duty shall <br />receive a shoe/boot allowance of One Hundred TweRty F+ve Seventy -five Dollars <br />($4251M.00) as needed toward the cost of shoes /boots. <br />Consumer Service Technicians and Urban Forestry Specialists _gad —eaier <br />shall receive fifty One Hundred Dollars ($58100.00) as <br />needed toward the cost of safety shoes/boots. Management shall determine <br />when the allowance is needed to replace shoes /boots. <br />F_1ihti Us] 4A F II:1$14f�Ti \'f.? <br />18.1 Recognized Holidays <br />holidays will -beare as follows: <br />New Year's Day <br />Martin Luther King Jr. Day (observed on the third Monday in January) <br />Washington's Birthday (observed on the third Monday in February) <br />Memorial Day (observed on the last Monday in May) <br />Independence Day <br />Labor Day (observed on the first Monday in September) <br />Veterans Day (observed November 11) <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />The Day After Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Eve <br />Christmas Day <br />New Year's Eve <br />Two administrative holidays and such other days as may be proclaimed local <br />holidays. Administrative holidays may only be taken in eight (8) hour increments. <br />At the option of the worker, a worker may receive pay at the worker's straight - <br />time rate of pay in lieu of one or both of the administrative holidays at eight (8) <br />hours per administrative holiday. In the event that one or both of the <br />administrative holidays are not used by the last pay period paid in the year <br />(based on the preceding 26 pay periods), payment will be made no later than the <br />first pay period in February. Administrative holidays will not be granted in 2013. <br />18.6 Holidays for Workers on Alternative Work Schedules <br />Except for Communications Dispatchers as provided below, workers on <br />Page 14 of 30 <br />
