.2
Street and Maple Street intersection. This intersection will already operate at an
''?% unacceptable level of senrice during the PM peak hour without the Project, and with the
addition of Project-generated traffic, the intersection is expected to operate at
unacceptable levels of service during both the AM and PM peak hours. (Secondary
Impact 7-10A)
Mitigation: The Project will be required to implement one of the three
altemative plans for mitigating Impact 7-10A idented in Secondary Mitigation 7-10A:'1)
installation of four-way stop signs combined with widening of the northbound approach
to include a dedicated left turn lane and a shared through/right-tum lane; 2) installation
of a traffic signal at the intersection; or 3) installation of a roundabout at the intersection.
Findings: Implementation by the project applicant of any of the three
altematives described in Secondary Mitigation 7-10A is feasible and will reduce the
impacts of the Project on the Blomquist StreeUMaple Street intersection, othervvise
potentially significant, to a less-than-significant level.
L. Proiect Imuacts on C/CAG's Conqestion Manaaement Plan Roadwav
Network — PM Peak Hour
Potential Impact: The Project is expected to generate approximately 909
net new peak-hour trips during the PM peak hour, making it subject to the requirements
presented in the Ciry/County Association of Govemments of San Mateo County
("C/CAG") Guidelines for the Imp/ementation of the Land Use Component of the 1999
Congestion Management Program (Impact 7-11).
Mitigation: The Project shall implement a TDM program that meets the
requirements of Mitigation 7-2 and the C/CAG Guidelines for the Implementafion of the
Land Use Component of the 1999 Congestion Management Program. The project
applicant must secure approval of the TDM program from both the City of Redwood City
and C/CAG prior_ to approval of any tentative subdivision map or development
agreement for the Project (Mitigation 7-11).
Findings: This mitigaticn measure is feasible and reduces the impact on
the C/CAG plan described above to a less-than-significant level.
M. Proiect Drivewav Safetv Imuacts
Potential Impact: One or more of the Project driveway connections to
Bair Island Road could be dangerous intersections, as described in Impact 7-12.
Mitigation: The Project shall incorporate the trac safety design
guidelines set forth in Mitigation 7-12 in finalizing plans for Project access.
Findings: This mitigation measure is feasible and reduces the impact
described above to a less-than-significant level.
1289\02N 79278.2 12
Atty/Reso/Reso.1470
052004
