Based upon the bids received, staff believes that the low bid of <br />$584,938.60 is reasonable and recommends awarding the contract to American Asphalt <br />Repair and Resurfacing Co., Inc. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />Council may choose not to award the contract and direct staff to redesign and /or rebid <br />this project. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds for Street Pavement Management Programs have been previously approved and <br />appropriated as Various Transportation Grants — Street Pavement Management <br />Program Construction (Proposition 1 B) which has an available balance of $551,625.67 <br />and the Transportation Fund - Street Pavement Management Program Construction <br />(Measure A) which has an available balance of $1,481,435.18. Balances are <br />preliminary and as of May 31, 2011. <br />
