(c) Insurance. Beginning on July 1, 2012 and ending on the Cross Services <br /> Termination Date (defined below), in addition to the Insurance requirements provided under the <br /> Original Agreement, the Participating Agencies agree as follows: <br /> (1) San Carlos agrees to provide primary insurance coverage with <br /> respect to automobile first party and third party liability exposures arising from Redwood City <br /> employees operating San Carlos vehicles. <br /> (2) Redwood City agrees to provide primary insurance coverage with <br /> respect to automobile first party and third party liability exposures arising from San Carlos <br /> employees operating Redwood City vehicles. <br /> (d) Relationship of the Participatin�A�encies Relatin� to the Cross Firefi h�ter_ <br /> Services. <br /> (1) With specific regard to the Cross Firefighter Services, the <br /> Participating Agency's firefighters when providing Cross Firefighter Services to the Participating <br /> Agency shall act as the receiving Participating Agency's firefighters and shall be supervised by the <br /> Fire Captain in the receiving Participating Agency. For example, if a Redwood City's Fire <br /> Captain is providing Cross Firefighter Services to San Carlos, that Fire Captain shall act as a <br /> captain of the San Carlos Fire Department when providing the Cross Firefighter Services to San <br /> Carlos with all the powers and responsibilities entrusted to captains by law, and the Battalion <br /> Chief shall exercise supervisory authority over the captain providing the Cross Firefighter <br /> Services. <br /> (2) When Redwood City Fire Department employees are providing <br /> Cross Firefighter Services to San Carlos, they will abide by the policies and procedures in effect <br /> for San Carlos for the purposes of carrying out assigned duties. When San Carlos Fire Department <br /> employees are providing Cross Firefighter Services to Redwood City, they will abide by the <br /> policies and procedures in effect for Redwood City for the purposes of carrying out assigned <br /> duties. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, any and all current policies and MOUs <br /> governing the terms and conditions of employment and employee-employer relationships will <br /> remain in effect. In.the event that a conflict arises between the policies and procedures of the two <br /> Participating Agencies while Cross Firefighter Services are being provided, such matters are to be <br /> referred to the employing Participating Agency for resolution, and the other Participating Agency <br /> shall have the duty to cooperate in resolving the conflict. For example, if a San Carlos firefighter <br /> is providing Cross Firefighter Services to Redwood City, any grievance or claim that firefighter <br /> may have will be handled by San Carlos, and Redwood City will cooperate as necessary. <br /> (3) Redwood City Fire Department employees are not, and shall not be <br /> deemed, San Carlos employees for any purpose. Redwood City shall be solely responsible for all <br /> salary, benefits, workers' compensation, and insurance for its personnel providing Cross <br /> Firefighter Services pursuant to this Amendment.
