The control of administrative oversight, emergency operations and routine fire service <br /> functions for the City of San Carlos will be managed by the Redwood City Fire Chie£ As an <br /> employee of Redwood City, the Fire Chief reports directly to the City Manager of Redwood City. <br /> The San Carlos City Manager will give direcYion to the Fire Chief as iY relates to services provided <br /> in the City of San Carlos. <br /> In addition to the Fire Chief oversight, a Deputy Fire Chief will oversee the additional <br /> workload required to effectively manage the City of San Carlos Fire operations. The time <br /> allocation and cost share for the first year of this contract will be as set forth in the chart below. Command and Operational Support <br /> Services will include the initial response of a qualified command officer (Battalion Chief <br /> or higher) to all incidents requiring response under the protocols used by Fire Departments located <br /> in San Mateo County. A command officer will be available 24/7 with a response travel time <br /> average not to exceed ten minutes absent unusual circumstances. In addition to response activiCies, <br /> the command officers will coordinate the daily staffing of the two fire stations located in San <br /> Carlos and supervise station personnel during emergency and daily routine activities.
