6. In accordance with the best interests of the patient, <br />Contractor's paramedics shall follow the policies and procedures, <br />and any amendments thereto, of the local EMS agency, including <br />but not limited to, patient treatment, turnover of the patient to <br />the emergency ambulance paramedics, and written documentation of <br /> <br />patient assessment and treatment. <br /> B. EMT-P PROGRAM DIRECTOR <br /> <br /> Contractor shall identify an individual as the Paramedic <br />Program Director. This individual shall have overall <br />responsibility for Contractor's emergency medical services <br />program and shall serve as the Contractor's liaison with the <br />County. When the Paramedic Program Director is not available for <br />longer than 72 hours, an Acting Paramedic Program Director shall <br />be identified by the Contractor. <br /> <br /> C. DATA COLLECTION AND RECORD KEEPING <br /> <br /> 1. Patient Medica~ ~ecords. The patient care record form <br />shall be specified by the EMS Agency. The Contractor shall <br />retain a copy of the patient medical record for at least seven <br />(7) years. These records shall be stored in a manner conducive <br />to easy retrieval. If requested, a copy of the patient record <br />shall be supplied to the County within four (4) calendar days of <br />the incident. Should the Contractor provide electronic data <br />containing the patient care information meeting the <br />specifications of County, no hard copy of the record will be <br />required for submission. <br /> <br /> 2.
