The flag was sent to <br /> Philadelphia to be flown on the Avenue of Flags along with flags sent <br /> by other cities during the Bicentennial Year festivities. <br /> Vice Mayor Barrett thanked the Club for the�r Redwood City�flag and <br /> their contribution to the City's Bicentennial Committee <br /> It was po�nted out that the Bicentennial Flag is not the official <br /> flag of the City and that other groups may from time Co time make <br /> other flags or banners to represent the City at different events, <br /> and that the Council is grateful to the Club for making a spectal <br /> Bicentennial Flag for the City <br /> Report and recomnendation from Councilman Norris, <br /> re resentative to Association of Ba Area Governments <br /> ABAG re proposed General Assemblv actions <br /> Councilman Norris presented his report on matters to come before the , <br /> ABAG General Assembly Meeting to be held February 24, 1977 in San <br /> Francisco <br /> MOTION Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Vega, to <br /> accept the recommendation of the ABAG representative to support the <br /> proposed amendments to the Bylaws of that agency as contained in the <br /> communication of January 19, 1977 to official representatives of the <br /> ABAG General Assembly from Revan A. F Tranter, Executive Director. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.(MINUTE ORDER N0. 77-28) <br /> Council members commended Councilman Norris for his excellent report <br /> ` and for his regular attendance at ABAG meetings <br /> Report re proposed Bin90 ordinance <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of February 11, 1977 re- <br /> garding the proposed Bingo ordinance Mr Fales reported that <br /> amendments to the Penal Code are pending before the Legislature <br /> which will modify and expand the requirements of the Bingo ordinance <br /> and that the proposed ordinance is based upon the San Mateo County <br /> Bingo Ordinance and the pertinent provisions of the State Penal Code. <br /> in response to questions, City Attorney Schricker advised that owner- ' <br /> ship of the premises where the Bingo games are held is a requirement <br /> of the ordinance and that a permit from the Police Chief is required <br /> by organizat�ons which desire to conduct games <br /> -2- <br /> Reg Mtg. <br /> 2/14/77 <br />
