He advised that the sub,7ect had been discussed with Assemblym�n Arnett, Senator Gregorio and representatives of Atherton and Menlo Park who agreed the matter should be explored with CalTrans Mr Fales urged Council support of AB 627 now. Councilman Norris, member of the Bair Island Task Force, described the membership o` the Task Force and the land donations to date and conf�rmed the statement that a line must be drawn with regard to any future donations Counci7man Norris stated it should be understood by all agenc�es that the C7ty expects to recezve equitable treatment in the future and w�ll resist attempts to take more City lands. Mr Fales confirmed that such a line must be drawn and that any fature attempts at acquisit�on of City lands by various agencies will have to be made through negotiation or by eminent domain pro- ceedings �nvolv�ng fa7r market price, but no more "mitigation" will , be folerated James Neuman, Mobi7 t7�i Estaties (Redwoea) Limited, advised that the �irst large land giTt was ,��ade by Mobii to the State in exchange for a quit claim deed and cime was noi availabTe to bargain for more. Director of Public Works Pusich adv�sed that the interchange improve- ment is a Federal Aid Urban (FAU) pro,7ect and most of the cost will be paid by the federal gAVerno�ent. Ne described the anticipated improvements, noting that the drainage p;oblem has been traced to improper drainage from the n��l area of Belmont. Mr Pusich commented � on what the General improve�oer�t 6istric� No. 1-64 must do in the way ' o; provid�ng a drainage pump stat�on and F�olding pond, stating they are noc�necessary until f�7�7rg ccrr�neaces and that consideration is bEing g�ven to an oversize� pu�ip scat�on with no holding pond.
