Dee Sanford, Deputy Superintendent <br /> of the Sequoia Union High School District indicating that Mr Sanford , <br /> is under the impression that the Farm Hill Site belonging to the <br /> , School District is to be rezoned PF. Mr. Fales expla�nad that the <br /> � proposed amendment merely proposes creating a zoning dis rict of <br /> Public Facility and does not rezone any piece of property. He `, <br /> further explained that if a PF District is established, then any , <br /> ' piece of property would only be rezoned PF in accordance with the <br /> usual procedure for rezom ng. �4� <br /> Planning Director Schroeter described the background relating to � <br /> the consideration of establtshment of a PF Dtstrict by the Planntng V <br /> Commission and the �ustifications usually found for such a district, <br /> ', namely that the City would have an opportunity to review the merits <br /> of the proposed development at the time of a sale and that such <br /> � zoning makes the General Plan map appear more consistent in that it <br /> is easier to identify such property. <br /> City Attorney Schricker advised that in residential districts, <br /> public and quasi-public uses are permitted, and there is nothing <br /> legally inconsistent with the present method of zoning Mr. <br /> Schricker and Mr Schroeter observed that usually the most restric- <br /> tive requirements of any residential area ad�acent to the prospective <br /> public facility are used <br /> Discussion followed and Mr Fales and Mr Schroeter commented and � <br /> replied to questions concerning the requirements of a public facility <br /> zone, the zoning and rezoning requirements and procedures of the <br /> City, the kinds of uses permitted in a PF zone, and whether nearby <br /> property owners would be advised if a piece of property were pro- <br /> posed for rezoning to PF <br /> F Dee Sanford Deputy Superintendent, Sequoia Union High School <br /> District, referred to his letter (see above), stating he now under- , <br /> stands that no particular piece of property is proposed for rezo m ng � <br /> � � as PF and that evidently a misunderstanding existed. }, <br /> � Walter Harrington, 57 Almendral, Atherton, member of the Sequoia � <br /> Union High School Board of Trustees, warned aga�nst the use of a <br /> PF District as a holding zone for open space It was explained � <br /> that no property �s being proposed for rezoning, and there is no <br /> intention or expectation of establishing open space through use <br /> of PF zoning. <br /> Explanations as to precisely what is being proposed in creating a <br /> PF District were repeated by Mr Fales, Mr Schricker and Mr <br /> Schroeter. <br /> In response to qeustion regarding the propriety of including public <br /> utilities in a PF District, Mr. Fales and Mr. Schricker explained <br /> that that is a use common to such districts and that any public , <br /> utility desiring to be so zoned would have to request it and follow <br /> the appropriate procedure <br /> -3- <br /> Reg.Mtg <br /> 5/10/76 <br /> , ' i �l <br />
