Mrs � <br /> Demasi suggested it is a common misapprehension that the Center is � <br /> a recreational facility, but that it was constructed under a federal <br /> program for use as a cortmunity center and is used primarily as such. <br /> Mrs. Demasi urged anyone who has concerns about the Center activities <br /> to visit-any time. - <br /> In response to quest�on, Mr Fales advised that the Center was con- <br /> structed under a federal grant which requires it be used as a social <br /> service center and that space is provided for non-city organ9zations <br /> whose services meet the needs of the residents of the cortanunity It <br /> was pointed out that some of the youth contacts expected to be made <br /> in connection with.the South San Mateo County Delinquency'Diversion <br /> and Prevention Program, for example, would be made at the Center. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, <br /> that Counctl approve a budget allocation for the Fair Oaks Community <br /> � Center of the same amount as approved for 1975-76 - that is, $154,029 - . <br /> and that the budget show an allocat�on from the City of half that � <br /> amount, or $77,015; that the Council work with staff to define pro- <br /> grams within the total amount; and that the budget be presented to <br /> the Board of Supervisors at a public meeting. <br /> , <br /> AODITION TO MOTION.
