4f2�`� <br /> Revenue Sharing (Continued) <br /> Zuma Francis 904 Cleveland, (see above) founder and charter member <br /> of PROBE, spoke in support of the work being done by Mr. Boxley and <br /> commented favarably on the work of PROBE in the cortonunity. <br /> Glorta Contreras, spoke tn Spanish with her translator advising that ' <br /> she is benefitting greatly from the literacy program and that PROBE <br /> has been very helpful to her <br /> Nancy Bey, 304 Nevada, conmiented favorably on the PROBE food fund <br /> Pollv Geraci, San Carlos, volunteer with PROBE Auxiliary, <br /> suggested that Clifford Boxley is reaching the entire community through <br /> PROBE and spends funds received wisely. <br /> David Hunter, spoke in support of PROBE and urged funds allocated not <br /> be reduced. <br /> The mot�on failed on the following roll call vote <br /> Ayes Counc�lmen Biagi, Rhodes <br /> Noes� Councilman Barrett, Bury, Norris and Mayor Leipzig <br /> HALFWAY HOUSE <br /> MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman Biagi, to <br /> allocate $3,000 to Halfway House and that the funds be taken from <br /> the $10,000 of Revenue Sharing funds deleted from the City Library � <br /> budget for films <br /> Brief discussion followed concerning the fact that the organization <br /> would have received $5,000 if the previous motion making reductions <br /> in the allocations to PROBE and CEC had carried; to the fact that the <br /> request from the agency had been for the larger amount; and that <br /> Council might request an accounting of the use of the funds. <br /> CHANGE OF MOTION: Councilman Rhodes with the consent of h�s second, <br /> increased the requested allocation to Halfway House to $5,000 to <br /> be used for daily operating expenses and with Council to receive an <br /> accounting of the use of the funds <br /> The,motion carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO 76-156) <br /> City Manager Fales advised that agreements are required when funds <br /> are allocated and the requirements of the motion will be incorporated <br /> into the agreements. <br /> PROBE - COMMUNITY EDUCATION CENTER (See above also) <br /> MOTION. Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, <br /> to approve the recommendation of the City Manager for Revenue <br /> Sharing fund allocations to PROBE ($23,817) and the Community Educa- , <br /> tion Center ($12,200). <br /> -7- <br /> Budget Study <br /> 6/5/76 ' <br />
