Title having been read, Councilman Barrett introduced the , � <br /> following resolution and moved, seconded by Councilman Biagi, its <br /> adoption• <br /> RESOLUTION N0. 7647 CONDITIONALLY APPROVING APPLICATION FOR � <br /> PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT RELATING TO REAL PROPERTY IN THE � <br /> VICINITY OF MARLIN DRIVE AND MARLIN COURT IN THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY I <br /> Councilman Norris stated for the record that while he believes the , <br /> proposed development is a fine pro�ect, he will oppose it because of � <br /> the inclusion of private streets, observing that he believes the re- I <br /> quirement that streets be maintained by the prospective homeowners I <br /> places an unnecessary and inequitable burden on them as compared to � <br /> other residents of the City Councilman Norris suggested a similar I <br /> development could have been constructed with public streets. <br /> Councilman Bury also stated for the record that prospective homeowners �I <br /> must be advised by the seller that the streets are private and that <br /> homeowners will be required to maintain them, leaving the decision <br /> whether or not to buy to the individual Councilman Bury observed <br /> that many people consider private streets to be a desirable feature , <br /> in a development such as that proposed and are quite willing to pay <br /> to maintain them. <br /> Councilman Barrett also stated for the record that the General Plan � <br /> permits the type of development with private streets being proposed, <br /> and that if such proposed pro�ects are not to be approved, then the <br /> General Plan should be changed. <br /> The resolution was adopted on the following roll call vote <br /> AYES Barrett, Biagi, Bury, Rhodes, Vega and Mayor Leipzig <br /> NOES.
