Ati:orney IdcCarti�y concurred in this •opinion. Cowicilman <br /> Britschgi stated he vras in favor of votin� for all the employees or none of <br /> them. A roll call vote was requested and the follotvinb vote recorded: <br /> L�Yes and infavor of the motion: Counc�lmen Anderson, Arnstrorg and Britschgi. � <br /> DJoes and against the ordinance: Councilmen Gran6er, PJZcNulty �nd Mayor <br /> Hilton. Absent: Cou.ncilman Fletcher.. <br /> Councilman Granger noved that the ordinance be introd.ucecl as e;mitten <br /> but temporarily excluding the city man�er�s sala,rRJ until such time�as there <br /> is a fu�l council. The motion was seconded by Councilm�n P.RcNulty. Council- <br /> man Mc;�lulty was of the opinion that it �sas a. useless motion c:hile Council- � <br /> man Granger said he made the motion to sho?�r ths:t it w2.� his intent to Rive <br /> the employees their. salary. Counci_lman Armstron�? said he «as �toin� to <br /> vote against the notion but that it�dic�n�t nean that he vr�.s opposing <br /> giving the employees their salary. Councilnan Armstrong a,dvised that the employees <br /> rvill continue to get.their present salaries until a neer salary ordinance <br /> is adopted butthat tHey will loose the Nar bonus�if the n�ar bonus ord_i- <br /> n�.nce is not enacted inasmuch as that ordinance covere a d.efinite <br /> period and expired June 30. He said the amount involved iri Pv4r. ?.iead�s <br /> salary is 2 negative item and r2.ther tha.n inconvenience the emnloyees � <br /> by stoppin� their ��ar bonus for a month, he believed the fair minded <br /> attitude would be to vote for the ordinance. Councilm�n Gran�er asked_ <br /> if Councilman Armstrong intended to have the ordinance for war bonus <br /> Por 1945-�6 introduced or if the present �a�ar bonus v�.�ould be continued. <br /> Councilm�n Armstrong replied that he intenc�.ed that the bonus for 1945-46 � <br /> be adopted. Councilman Grang�r aaked if the �va,.r bonus could not be kez�t <br /> in the s�une status as the orie for 1�4 to which C?ty Attorney P.RcCarthy <br /> replied that it could not be e�:tended ina.smuch a.s it epecifically ex- <br /> pirec� on June j0, 19�+5. Councilman Armstrong moved that the war bonu� <br /> ordinance be introduced v�ith the necess�ry chan�,e in Lford_in�, as referrin� � <br /> to the salary ordinance.
