<br /> City Attorney McC�rthq explained that some months ago,.Mr, Morriseey ha.d aeked
<br /> to have four lots in the Sweeney Tract deeded to him. He paid the city
<br /> �2000. It was his understanding that the county taxes were paid but he die-
<br /> covered that there was due to the county �106 for taxes on Lots 2� b, Block
<br /> 11, Sweeney Additiom, The Council had authorized by resolution a quit claim
<br /> deed to the lote•in queetions and the deed and resolution had been filed
<br /> and a receipt received from the title compa.ny, who had forwarded �2000 with
<br /> • the condition that the city vQas to clear taxes and guarantee the title coa-
<br /> pany against claime instituted by the quiet title action. City Attorney
<br /> McCarthy said there apparently wae a misunderetanding as to who was to pay
<br /> the county taxes. It was the general consenaus of the Council that it was
<br /> not responsible for the county taxes and City Attorney McCarthy was instruc-
<br /> ' ted to so adniee Mr. Morriesey.
<br /> City Attorney McCarthy advieed that in regard to Lots 23, 24, 25, Block 43, on
<br /> Valota Road, wnicn the Council had instructed him to obtain a certificate
<br /> of redemption by paying county taxea, County Tax Collector MacArthur advised
<br /> ' him that these lote nad been advertised and bids received of $250 on each
<br /> of the above mentioned lots, Mr. MacArthur advised that he could not let
<br /> the city redeem tne lots for tazes in view of the fact tnat they have been
<br /> advertieed and bids received, He said the city could redeem them for �250
<br /> each, �however, he believed it would be to the city's advantage to allorov the
<br /> . lots to be sold and take ite pro rata share of the sale price, Councilman
<br /> �• Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Andereon, that the City Attorney
