Motion passed unanimously, <br /> Communication was received from Miss Ethel Murray, holder of some 1915 Bonda <br /> whicn she had offered to sell to tne city�at par value plus intereet coupons <br /> and which offer tne Council had not accepted. 8he expreesed the opinion <br /> that she was entitled to such payment and, she wae entitled <br /> • to full interest up to the time of payment. Councilman Armstrong moved, <br /> seconded by Councilman McNulty.; tuat the communication be ordered filed. <br /> Connumication was received from the Traffic 3tudy Committee�°reoommending that <br /> overnead traffic eignals operating over the middle of the intereections of <br /> E1 C�ino Real witn Brewster, Broadway, Jaanee and Jefferson be installed <br /> due to the fact t•hat the traffic signals as now installed are wholly Or <br /> par.tially obscured by large vehicles and are a cause of accidents, City <br /> 1 Manager Blom advised triat he was in favor of overhead signals but that the <br /> 3tate Highway Department did not favor them, The Council generally approved <br /> tne overhead signals, also. Councilman Armstrong moved that the City <br /> Manager be instructed to draft a letter to the.Highway Department outlining <br /> the report of the Traffic Study Committee and expressing the view of the <br /> Council to see if arrangemente can be made to have overhead signals insta�- <br /> led ae the anove recommendation specified. The motion was seconded by <br /> Councilman Britscrigi and passed unanimously, <br /> • Councilman Britsehgi asked who regulate the heignt of the signals and upon <br /> being informed that the State Highway Department was resp etated <br /> that the signal standards were of. heighta in different cities <br /> along the Peninsula. City Manager Blom advieed that he had diecussed with <br /> Colonel 3keggs the poasibility of getting a more modern type of eignal, <br /> ' Councilman Granger believed that one interaection should be designated <br /> wnere the signal would be kept on a11 night so that pedestriana and vehiclee <br /> would always have a signal to cross E1 Camino Real. He moved, seconded by <br /> Co'uncilman Armetrong, tnat the City Manager be instructed to take etepe to <br /> ' see that one signal be:'.lePtcon all night, the intersection to be designated <br /> by the City Manager. Motion passed unanimouslp. <br /> Communication wae received from the Traffic 3tudy Committee recommending that E1 <br /> Camino Real be lighted at tne interaections of Hrewster, Broadway, Jamea, <br /> � Jefferson and Five Points. Councilman Granger moved tne matter be referred <br /> to the City Manager for study as to the cost of lighting these intersectione, <br /> � seconded by Councilman McNulty.
