Street $uperintendent Flinter advised that the city <br /> " paid for removing weeds in a street area, City Attorney McCarthy advised <br /> that he believed it was up to the Police Department to determine who put <br /> rubbieh in vacant lots or the city pay the cost of removing it, <br /> ' Councilman Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Britscngi, adoption of reso- <br /> ' lution requiring tne abatement of a muisance in regard to weed abatement <br /> proceedings, On roll call, reeolution rras unanimously.adopted with Coun- <br /> cilman Anderson abaent, <br /> \ <br /> RESOLllT ION No, 301 <br /> ' REQUIRING THE ABATEMENT OF A NUI3ANCE <br /> YYHEREAS, the Council of the City of Redwood City did, on the 18th day <br /> of March, 1946, pass and adopt Resolution No. 290 Declaring Weede A Nuieance <br /> and Ordering Their Removal, in which reeolution it was declared that noxious <br /> or dangerous weeds were growing upon all the sidewalks, etreets, avenues, <br /> roads, boulevards and highways in said city, and upon all the lote and pro- <br /> perty in said city, wnich weede are of a kind which bear aeeds of a wingy <br /> or downy nature and will attain euch large growth as to become a fire menace <br /> when dry, and that said �veeda constitute a public nuieance; and <br /> � WHEREAS, after the passage of said Resolution No, 290 Declaring YYeede <br /> A Nuisance and Ordering Tneir Removal, the Superintendent of 9treets of tne <br /> City of Redwood City duly and regularly caused to be posted notices of the <br /> passage of eaid resolution in time, form, manner and numDer as required by <br /> law; and ` <br /> WHEREAS, at the time fixed in said notices and in said resolution when <br /> objections to tne removal of such weeds would be heard and given coneidera- <br /> tion by the Council of the City of Redwood City, no objectione of any kind ' <br /> were made against the removal of said weede, and said.Council novu having � <br /> adquired juriadiction tnereof; ' : <br /> THEREFORE, BE IT Rr^,SOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City -� <br /> that the Superintendent of Streets of said city be and he is hereby ordered ' <br /> and directed to abate.the nuisance existing as epecified in said Resolution <br /> ' No.290 Declaring Weeds A Nuisance and Ordering Their Removal, and as pro- <br /> vided by law. <br /> The above and foregoing reaolution was passed and adopted by the Coun- <br /> cil of the City of Redwood City at a regular meeting thereof held on the <br /> 15tn day of April, 1946, by the Pollowing vote: <br /> AYES and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing <br /> resolution; <br /> Councilmen: ARh43TRONG, BRITSCHGI, FLETCHER, GRANGER, McNLILTY and <br /> HILTON. <br /> • � NOES, and against the passa.ge and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br /> Councilmen: NONE <br /> AHSENT: Councilman: ANDERSON <br /> 19, W, HILTON <br /> Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br /> ATTE$T: <br /> ' RALPH S.
