Amend Section 1 of Rule X by the addition of the following: <br /> During the probationary period, and emtiloyee rnay reside outside the city <br /> limits of Redwood City but within the irnmediate vicinity of,the city provided <br /> 1 his appointment has been made in accordance witr. the amendment dated October <br /> 5, 1941, vahich permits em�loyment of applic�.nts v�ho have not resided in Red- <br /> arood City for a period of one year immediately prior to er:;ployment if tHe <br /> fact can be established that trere exists a la.ck of qualified applicants re- <br /> siding ti�rithin the coraorate limits. Pdith the approval of the Boasd of Review <br /> the Persennel Officer may grant one or !nore`extensions of the probationary <br /> period of not to exceed six.months dura.tion. <br /> � In the case of a perraanent.employee vlho loses his residence within the <br /> city as a result of circumstances beyond his control, the Personnel Officer <br /> may, with the approval of the Board of Review, reclassify such employee to a <br /> � temporarv status under a probationa,ry period as provided for original employ- <br /> menti:or promotional aopointment anc perrnit residence outside but v�ithin the <br /> � <br />
