It was <br /> so ordered. <br /> This was the time set for the hearing of proteste for public improvements on <br /> Audson, Grand and Lincoln 3treete. City Clerk Dod�e advised that four written • <br /> proteste had beeri received and read the lettere receined from the four pro- <br /> testants, J. A. Ocegueda, 1606 Hess Road; Maria Mendina 3oares, parcel No. 118; <br /> Annie Agrotti, Rose Locatelli and Charles Agrotti, parcel No. 116; and E. F. <br /> Cerqui, parcel 119. These protesta were all in regard to the drainage p�rtion <br /> of the project.. Mr. Cerqui appeared peraonally before the Council and ex- <br /> presaed hie protests, After consideration discussion, in which City Engineer <br /> � Wilson, City Manager Hlom and the Council participated, Mayor Fiilton asked ' <br /> for further protestants. There were no additional protestants. Councilman <br /> Armstrong moved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, the filing of affidavite <br /> of publication of notice of improvements in the official newepaper, poating <br /> of notices on streets affected, and of mailing of notices. Motion passed <br /> unanimously. <br /> Councilman Werder questioned whether a,15" drain plpe as included in the plans <br /> would be of suffioient size and aeked the City Engineer hie opinion about � <br /> making it a 24" pipe. City Engineer Vrilson advised that the engineers had <br /> beliened a 15" pipe sufficient and suggested that if the larger pipe were used <br /> that the increased cost be taken from eome funcl rather than changing the <br /> asseasment roll. This project is now being financed on a four-way eplit - <br /> Hudson Street Fund, Gas Tax Funds, Asseesment and City F�nds. It was the ' <br /> opinion of the City Engineer that the additional size pipe would increase the <br /> cost of the project approximately �1500. The question was asked that if the <br /> size of the pipe were increased whether the whole project would be delayed. <br /> City Attorney McCa.rthy advised that if the cost of the larger pipe were to <br /> be paid by the asseasment diatrict, the project would be delayed, however, 1 <br /> if the city abeorbed the cost the work could be proceeded with. City Mana- <br /> ger Blom advised Councilman 9Perder, in response to his inquiry, tha.t there <br /> were a few thousand dollare, in the gas tax fund that ha.ve not ae yet.been <br /> obligated. Councilman Granger expressed his dieapproval of using any more <br /> gas tax Yunds on this project, Hoveeder, the majority of the Councilmen • <br /> expressed the opinion that thie was a very important project and should be <br /> J <br />
