Wilson, <br /> Street Superintendent H. L. °Jinter, Health Inspector Royal S. Hodge, <br /> ' Assistant Building Inspector %reiss. <br /> On motion of Councilman Werder, seconded by Councilman Britschg�, the minutes <br /> of the meeting of July 15, 1946, were unanimously approved ae mailed. <br /> APPLICATION FOR PERMIT=COLP BROB. CIRCUS. <br /> Communication was received from William J. Leater of Cole Bros. Circus <br /> requesting permit to conduct circus within the city limits on one � <br /> • week day between September 14 and 21st, 1946. One main tent and one <br /> side show are to collect admission. City Manager Blom pointed out <br /> that he had authority to grant or deny permits of this kind. On mo- <br /> tion of Councilman Armstrong, seconded by Councilman Pderder, permit <br /> was granted Cole Bros. Circus as reguested, subject to approval of <br /> E. 44. Blom, and usual license fees. <br /> UNDERPASS: Communications were rebeived from United Veterans Council and <br /> 1 Ladies Ausiliary of the James'L. 49ilson Post, V.F.YY, urging plana for <br /> an underpass at the railroad crossing at Broadway, City Manager Hlom <br /> said that he had been requested by Commander Whitehead of the American <br /> Legion to inform the Council that the American Legion was not party to <br /> either of these communicatione and wae not entirely in accord with <br /> their form; that, however, the Legion has no objection to an underpass, <br /> as such. On motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman <br /> • Armatrong, communications were unanimously referred to Underpasa Study <br /> Committee. <br /> PENINSULA CEL&B13ATION ABSOCIATION: Communication was received from Peninau- <br /> lar Celebration Associ�.tion expressing apnreciation of the cooperation <br /> of the City of Redwood City and ite individua,l officers in the succese- <br /> , ful July 4th Rodeo at Red�vood City. The rodeo wae financ3ally success- <br /> ful and payment of the Aasociation's obligations to the City �vill be <br /> , made shortly. <br /> LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA��CITIES: Communication was received from the League of <br /> ' California Cities inviting the participation of Redwood City in the <br /> League�s 48th Annual Conference to be held in San Diego on September <br /> . -• � <br /> . 16 to 19, 1946. � <br /> APPLICATION FOR LICENSE- Fong�s Iriquois Village: The Health Department re- <br /> ported favorably on Fong's Iriquoie Village. On motion of Councilman:t <br /> �' Armstrong, license to operate a restaurant was unanimously granted to <br /> � Fong�s Irquois Village. <br /> � <br />
