<br /> RESOLUTION OF A1^lARD OF CONTRACT.
<br /> (Resolution of Intention 1940=2)
<br /> V7HEREA5, the Council of the City of Redwood City, did in open eession
<br /> ' � on tne 5th day of August, 1946, publicly opern, examine and declare all
<br /> sealed proposa.ls or bids for doing the following work and making the fol-
<br /> lowing� improvements in said City of Redwood City, to-wit:
<br /> ,. That the following streets and avenues be improved: '
<br /> (a Quartz Street between Madison and Vera Avenues;
<br /> (b Ruby Street between Jefferson and Vera Avenues;
<br /> (c Sapphire Street between James and Vera Avenues;
<br /> (d Topaz Street betweeri Jefferson and V,era Avenues;
<br /> (e Dqadison Street between Quartz 8treet and the southv¢esterly City line
<br /> (f Vera Avenue between Valota Road and the southwesterly City line;
<br /> � (g� Taft Street batween Vera and Roosevelt Avenues;
<br /> (h) 611 intersections of said streets and avenues excepting the inter-
<br /> section of aua.rtz Street and Madison Avenue and the intersectiona of croes
<br /> streets with Jefferson Avenue;
<br /> (j) A storm drain structure in Sapphire Street across the creek trav-
<br /> , ersin said street between Jefferson and James Avenues;
<br /> �k) A storm drain structure in Taft Street the creek travereing
<br /> said street between Vera and Rooaevelt Avenues;
<br /> (m) The, acquisition of property for the opening of Vera Avenue between
<br /> Ruby Street and a point tkiereon approximately 114 feet southweaterly from
<br /> the southwesterly line of Junipero Street;
<br /> That the improvements and work to be done in said streets and avenues
<br /> is particularly described as follows: The grading of all streets herein-
<br /> ' above mentioned and the construction of a 6 inch �vaterbound macadam base and
<br /> 1-1/2 inch asphaltic top pavement, combined concrete cement curbe and gutters
<br /> on each side of each street, and 4 inch concrete cement sidewalks 5 feet
<br /> along each eide of each street;
<br /> RESOLVED, that said Council of the City of Redwood City hereby rejecta
<br /> all of said propoea.ls or bids except that next herein mentioned and hereby
<br /> avaarda the contract for doing said work and making said improvements to the
<br /> lowest, regular, responsible bidder, to-wit:
<br /> UNION PAVING COIdPANY
<br /> at the pricea named in "their" bid.
<br /> , The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice of this award
<br /> • twice in the Redwood City Tribune, a daily (except 8unday) newspa,per, pub-
<br /> lished, printed and circulated in said City of Redwood City, and hereby ,.
<br /> designated for that puroose by the Council of said City.
<br /> Passed and adopted by the Council of the'City of Redwood City at the
<br /> hour of 8:00 o�clock p,m, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 5th day
