The duties of the commiesion would be to make neoessary atudies oY <br /> all airport problems in the county, responsibility Yor the methods of manage- <br /> ment and operation of sirporte under their �urisdiction, to appoint managers <br /> of suoh ports, to present euitable program for hangar repair, prepare rental <br /> or lease schedules for tne program, The planned location for a3rports in this � <br /> area would be a Class 3 oounty airport opposite the City of Belmont and tuo <br /> privately owned porte, one to be a class 2 port oppoeite the Qity of 8an <br /> Mateo. It was believed that these would be the only permiseible developmente <br /> between the Pa.lo Alto Airport and Mills Field. City Manager Blom stated that <br /> he had suggested at the meeting that the looation of the ports be as far from <br /> the built up areas ae possible and ae near to the Bay ae poesible. Oouncilma n <br /> Werder moned, seoonded by Counoilman Gran�er, the appronal of the Council and ' <br /> agreement with the plans ea set forth by the 8an Mateo County Planning Com- - <br /> mieaion. Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Oity Manager Blom advised that about two montns ago the city advertised for sale a <br /> 31 ft. lot on Redwood Anenue between Gordon and Johnaon Streeta at the request <br /> of Real �state Agent Hoeffler who had a client who owned the ad�oining lot, <br /> VPhen the ea7.e wae held the only bidder wae a party who d1d not own the ad�oin- <br /> ing lot and the bid was rejected. Mr. VPilliam T. Rnowles, who owns ad�oinin� � <br /> property, has now subraitted a bid in the amount of �325 for tnis 31 ft, lot. <br /> The price established bq tne real estate committee teae �300. Oouncilman <br /> • Armstrong aeked if there were any delinquenciea againat the lot and was adviaed <br /> tbat all delinquencies had been taken into account when the prioe was set. <br /> Qity Attorney McOarthy advised that the bid eould be acoepted because it had ' <br /> been less than six months since the lot was advertised, Councilman Granger <br /> moned, eeconded by Councllman 9Yerder, that the bid of Mr, gnowles be acaepted. <br /> Motion passed unanimously. <br /> Citq Manager Hlom reported that complaints had been reaeived in regard to eanitarq <br /> oonditions at the Williameon Fertilizer Plant located on Bayshore Highway ' <br /> opposite the Red Feather Products Company and ad�oining the Roee Roy Trailer <br /> �amp. Oorrespondenee had been held with the owner of the plant and aeveral <br /> inspections made. Mr. Williamson hae been having dlfficulty in getting the <br /> plant in operation due to scarity of materials, etc, A letter had been ad- <br /> dreseed to him on August 15 to,immediately correct tne situation or his � <br /> licenee would be renoked. A visit to the plant as of this date showed thaL <br /> I <br />
