Motion passed unanimously. � � Mr. Louie Berirene again addressed the Council and asked that more coneideration �' be given to allocating the present supply of water pipe to tae Edgewood ' Park area. He based his argwnent on the fact that there are many more people in the Edgewood Park area and that tnere was a great financial in- vestment in that area. He atrongly oppoaed to the pipe being uaed in the new subdinieion, Mr. Glenn Ticer also epoke and re:f.erred to plan for laying out water mains ' which had been presented to the Board of Fire Underwritere on July 20, 1945, and provided for work to be done over a three year period and called for 8" pipe on Alameda de las Pulgas and Edgewood Road and Edgewood Road and Biroh Street. He further stated that the reference that the pipe wae allo- cated to tnis aubdivieion in a caucus meeting was not true, that tne trans- ' action had been done in public meetinga, He said the tract had been an- nexed to the city over a year ago and was on the tax rolls. Counoilman Armstrong etated that the city nad been anxious to take the tract into the city before it was developed and the subdividers were willing to oome into the city before it was developed and to Yollow the requiremente of tne city in the development of the tract. Councilman Granger aeked how long it would take before work could pe etarted in the Edgewood Park area. City Manager Blom advised that it take ' about thirty days to get tbe plans ready and to advertise for bids. He believed it would be poaeible to receive bids at the eecond meeting in September.
