J. �ilburn to conduct a children�s ride at E1 <br /> Camino Real and Chestnut Street for a period of one week, Permission was <br /> also requested to use a trailer for sleeping purpoaes only for that period, � <br /> Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman McNulty, that the permit <br /> be granted for a period of one v�eek provided that the trailer is approved <br /> by the health department and that arrangementa be made to use sanitary <br /> facilitiee at a nearby filling station. �fiotion passed unanimously. <br /> City Manager Blom asked the Council'e wiahes in regard to the Oity Fire Department <br /> responding to fires outeide of the city limits. He advised it had been the <br /> custom to respond to calls from other Peninsula cities on receiving a re- <br /> quest for aifl from the cnief of the outside fire department. Calla vaere also � <br /> answered from the Pacific Portland Cement Company, Plant Rubber and 9sbestos <br /> Company and Johns-Manville Company. It was the recommendation of the Fire <br /> Chief and City Manager that the city continue to answer euch calls, Oouncil- <br /> �, <br /> m�,n Fletcher moved, seconded by Councilman'McNulty, that the recommendation' <br /> of tne City Manager and Fire Chief be concurred in, Motion paesed unanimouely, � <br /> In regard to trie application to cloae an alley in Broadway No. 3, protesta were <br /> received from tne P. G. & E. and Joint Pole Association. A letter had been <br /> written to the P. G. & E: by Kirkbride and Wilson, Attorneys at Law, in re- <br /> gard to the protest. It was the understanding of Kirkbride and Wilson that � <br /> thie protest would be withdrawn if the P. G. & E, were granted the ri$ht to <br /> extend its services in an eaeement to be granted extending from Manle 8treet <br /> � to Chestnut Street and tnat it was understood that the P, G& E,'s loss <br /> resulting from tne closing of this alley would be $�300 for the gas line and <br /> �50 for the el.ectric line, It was agreed that tliis charge would be aesessed <br /> ag'ainet benefited property.
