Rq <br /> 7.A. - Page 26 � <br /> WHEREAS, if inedica! marijuana collectives were allowed to be <br /> establish�d without appropriate regulation, s�ch uses might: �) be established <br /> under conditions that would conflict with the requirements of the General Plan, <br /> the City's Zoning Ordinance (which is aboUt to undergo re�iew and amendment}, <br /> fort�coming City regulations, and state andlor federal law; 2} be inconsistent with <br /> surrounding uses; and 3} �e detrimental to �he p�blic health, safety and w�lfare; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, an December 14, 2009, the C�ty C�uncif adopted an <br /> ordinance (Ordinance 2350) that imposed a for�y-five (45) day morafarium on the <br /> estab�ishment and aperation of inedical marijuana collectives in the C�ty to give <br /> stafF time to study the legality, potential adverse community impacts, and <br /> mechanisms for regulation of inedical marijuana collecfives; and <br /> WHEREAS, in accordance with the requirements of Government Code <br /> section 65858, a twenty�two (22} month, fifteen (15} day exfension o# the <br /> moratorium is needed for City staf� to complete the analysis of the issue and <br /> establish appropriate policies and regulations. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY �� REDWOOD CITY <br /> DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS. <br /> SECTION '[. Purpose and Findings <br /> A. The above recitals are incorporated herein and are each relied <br /> upon independently by the City Counci[ for its adoption of this <br /> interim ordinar�ce. <br /> B. The Redwood City General Plan does no� present[y contain a <br /> goal or policy of textual discussian of the issue of a propased <br /> use of inedical marijuana collectives. <br /> C.
