. . <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) LOCAL 521 <br /> alternative work schedules will have leave, other than sick leave, deducted for <br /> any holiday leave hours in excess of eight (8) hours in one (1) day. If the worker <br /> has no such qaid leave balance, the additional time will be unqaid. <br /> 18.7 Holidav Pav For Part Time Librarv Workers <br /> Part time Librarv Workers will receive a pro-rated amount of holidav oav based <br /> on the emplovee's reqularlv scheduled percentaqe of full time emolovment or <br /> based on the number of hours the emplovee is scheduled to work on the dav the <br /> holidav falls, whichever is qreater. If a oart time Librarv worker is reaularlv <br /> scheduled for more hours than the pro-rated amount on the dav on which the <br /> holidav falls (i.e., the emplovee was scheduled and worked the desiqnated <br /> qreater number of hours on the six corresoondinq davs of the six weeks <br /> immediatelv arecedinq the holidav), the emplovee will receive the areater amount <br /> as holidav hours. <br /> ARTICLE 19 — VACATIONS <br /> 1g.1 �"^^•^.^ '��'., ''^^� Aall full-time workers shall be entitled to vacation leave; <br /> with Department Head approval, from the commencement of their employment <br /> with the City. <br /> The time during the calendar year at which a worker shall take vacation shall be <br /> determined by the Department Head with due regard to the wishes of the worker <br /> and particular regard to the needs of the service. During the period from March <br /> 1 through April 15 of each calendar year, all workers shall, on a form provided by <br /> the City, indicate their preferences for vacation periods. Preference of vacation <br /> date shall be given to workers according to their length of service in as <br /> reasonable manner as possible. Each department will post a final vacation <br /> schedule by April 30 of each year. Department Heads mav applv an alternate <br /> vacation schedulinq orocedure subiect to mutual aqreement between the Citv <br /> and Union. <br /> 19.3 Vacation leave shall not be accumulated in excess of two (2) years accrued <br /> vacation leave, computed throuah the �av aeriod that includes #�the 31st of <br /> December, except upon written authorization of the Human Resources Director. <br /> ARTICLE 20 - LEAVE PROVISIONS <br /> 20.1 Sick Leave <br /> 20.1.1 Sick leave with pay shall be granted to all full-time, regular workers at the rate of <br /> one (1) working day (eipht (8) hoursl for each full calendar month of service from <br /> the commencement of their employment with the City.
