TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br /> SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION (SEIU) LOCAL 521 <br /> 20.13.3 It is reauired that the worker use accrued sick leave. vacation, or <br /> compensatorv time durinq familY/medical leave. The use of leave durina the <br /> period of familv/ medical leave will be used in accordance with the provisions of <br /> this Memorandum of Understanding regarding vacation, sick leave and <br /> compensatoro time. <br /> 20.13.4 The City will maintain contributions for the worker's health benefits under group <br /> health plans at the same level as prior to the leave, in accordance with the <br /> Family & Medical Leave Act. The worker shall return to the same position, or <br /> another position with equivalent benefits, pay and other terms and conditions of <br /> employment upon completion of the leave. <br /> ARTICLE 21 - EDUCATIONAL EXPENSE REIMBURSEMENT, TRAINING, <br /> LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES <br /> 21.1 Education Expense Reimbursement <br /> ��21.1.1 In accordance with the Citv's Education Reimbursement Policv, �regular <br /> workers shall be eligible for reimbursement of costs of tuition, registration fees, <br /> books and supplies and other educational expenses incurred in connection with <br /> enrollment in and successful completion of courses of instruction related to the <br /> worker's position of employment with the City or a higher position with the City. � <br /> ...a...,.... ..;.ti �ti �■.. �• o • t�.�,............� o..r,... � <br /> e-S.��E�t�nal , ti�„�,��,,,�,r,-o..o. <br /> 21.1.2 A worker shall be eligible to receive reimbursement not to exceed Five Hundred <br /> Dollars ($500.00) per fiscal year, provided that the courses of instruction require <br /> � attendance at an accredited junior/ communitv college or university, areis part of <br /> a curriculum leading to a degree or given by an accredited institution of learning, <br /> � including workshops, seminars and trade school courses, are+s approved in <br /> advance of enrollment by the Human Resources Director and the worker's <br /> Department Head, and the worker successfully completes such course submitted <br /> for reimbursement with a grade of "C" or better. <br /> ARTICLE 22 - HEALTH PLANS <br /> 22.1 Health and Cafeteria Plans <br /> 22.1.1 The City a�ees-4ewill contract with the California Public Employee's Retirement <br /> System (CaIPERS) for participation under the Public Employees Medical and <br /> Hospital Care Act (Government Code Section 22751, et, seq.), forthe ourpose of <br /> providinq medical insurance benefits for emplovees, and emolovees who have <br /> retired from emqlovment with the Citv and constitute "annuitants" as defined bv <br /> PEMHCA. <br /> , <br /> , <br /> aUpon the request of the City, the parties will re-open i#�i�Article 22.1:� to meet <br /> Page 19 of 30 � <br /> � I � � ����\` <br /> 1 <br />
