6.3.A. - Page 4 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />APPROVING THE UPDATED PARKS IMPACT FEE PROJECT LIST <br />WHEREAS, the Mitigation Fee Act (Section 66000 et seq. of the California <br />Government Code) and Article XI, Section 7 of the California Constitution authorize the <br />City to levy a fee upon development projects to defray all or a portion of the costs of <br />public facilities (including public improvements and public amenities) related to the <br />development project; and <br />WHEREAS, on October 22, 2007, the City established by Ordinance No. 2318 a <br />Parks Impact Fee, codified in Article XV of Chapter 18 of the Redwood City Municipal <br />Code, in order to extend its system of parks, parkland, and recreation facilities to serve <br />future development in the City; and <br />WHEREAS, Section 18.257 of the Redwood City Municipal Code requires that <br />the City Council approve a Parks Impact Fee Project List ( "Impact Fee Project List ") by <br />Resolution; and <br />WHEREAS, through Resolution No. 14807, the City Council adopted a Parks <br />Impact Fee Project List pursuant to Article XV, Sections 18.257 and 18.260(A) of the <br />Redwood City Municipal Code; and <br />WHEREAS, through Resolution No. 14807, the City Council adopted the <br />"Redwood City Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Preliminary Needs <br />Assessment" ( "Preliminary Needs Assessment ") dated July 2007; and <br />WHEREAS, the Parks Needs Assessment was subsequently finalized and <br />approved by the Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission in October <br />Reso. 2162 Updated Parks Impact Fee Project List <br />090811 <br />
