3.3 WIND
3e3.1 Potential Effect: Development of the Project could affect wind patterns.
Findin s The City hereby makes .-Finding (l).
Facts in Sqp f Findings.
( a) The master lan for the Pro' ect site, pre ared b the ex erienced
p . p p
architectural. firm of Skidmore, Cowin s and Merrill, a voi ds wind. tunnels and other
g
adverse wind impacts b the careful siting of buildings. Furthermore, to the extent
p
that any wind effects resulted from the Project plan, these effects would be self-
contained on the Project site and would not affect off -site property owners.
Therefore, grind effects will not be significant.
(b) Although the Redwood Peninsula EIR identifies this impact as significant, it
also acknowledges that the significance of the impact will depend upon the design
of each rd' ect. The features incorporated into the Project, as identified above,
will mitigate this impact to below a level of significance.
x
3,4 HYDROLOGY
3.4.1 Potential Effect. Development of the Project could affect hydrologic patterns.
Findin s The City hereby makes Findings (l) and (2).
Facts i n Su mort of Fin dings
The .Redwood Peninsula EIR states that development of the entire
( a) a
Redwood Peninsula "is not expected to have significant imp on hydrologic
pasterns . Dunn g storms , runoff would drain more rapidly from developed areas
and ded avin dr ain quickly) and would contribute higher peak
(struc p aving .
discharges to the lagoon system. However, the total volume requiring drainage
would be the same, developed or - undeveloped. This is largely because the
subsoils have little permeability ermeabili now and cannot be expected to take up much
.
runoff through infiltration," (Redwood Peninsula EIR. p.1v -11. .
( b ) The Pry' ect will be required to meet drainage and stormwater regulations of
i
the Redwood City engineering Division. Jn addition, the Project will be subject to
NPDES Guidelm" es and regulations relevant to storm waste management.,
..13_
FNDNGP 1.DOC
5/30l96 10:51 .AM
