Consultant shall submit final calculations, stamped and wet signed by a California
Professional Engineer. These calculations will cover: pressure, road loads, pipeline
design for seismic conditions, corrosion protection for the new installations. All new
pipes will be designed to accommodate surge by assuming maximum hoop stress
under hydrostatic conditions is limited to 45% of yield, assuming maximum gradeline of
306 feet (conservatively assuming no pressure reduction form SFPUC BDPL pipeline
grade line).
Final drawings shall be printed in D size (24x36 inch) format, set up to produce half size
prints at B size (11x17 inch) format.
The list of drawings includes but is not limited to the following:
Item Number of Potential Drawing List for Contract Documents
Drawin s
Cover Sheet 1
Technical 2
S ecifications
Site Plans 10 10 sites. Each site will have a plan and profile
and Profiles
Details 4 Valve and b ass details, corrosion rotection details
Total 17
Table 1. Drawing List (Potential)
To the maximum extent, Consultant will re-use available Redwood City drawings (TIF
and PDF) as background information, with new details to be shown on suitable new
layers, and existing information shown "grayed". Site plans will be based on available
information shown on available Redwood City drawings. New potholing or survey is not
included as it is not warranted for the seismic upgrade work, but will be included as part
of the bid documents for the contractor to implement; but if deemed necessary for other
purposes as may be required by Redwood City, then the additional survey work shall be
negotiated or shall be provided by Redwood City.
Consultant shall then develop a 50% review set of drawings for the seismic upgrades
and an outline of the construction specifications for submittal to Redwood City. The
purpose of this submittal is to obtain Redwood City comments on the proposed designs,
to assure compliance with project goals, and to determine conformance with Redwood
City standards.
ATTY/AGR/2014/AMENDMENTS/AMEND N0.1 G&E ENGINEERING
REV:03-21-14 VR
