on
V. Recommendations
The following recommendations reflect our best analysis of the information and data
provided to us. Some of the recommendations may appear to be very practical and simply
require some changes, some planning, and can be implemented quickly. Others clearly
require changes in policy or creative solutions that may take a little longer.
I
A. The Police Activities League of Redwood City should adopt this report and use it as
a guide for future actions.
B. We strongly recommend the Developmental Study Advisory Committee be asked to
serve as a core for some of the proposed pre - campaign task forces. Specifically, as
members of the Project Management Group.
C. The PAL should undertake a project awareness - building program. It is our
recommendation this be done in a professional way. Including, the development of
— a video to show the real needs the PAL and to provide an insight into the programs.
D. The potential for substantial gifts for th_p campaign appears favorable. Although any
lists of names in the top giving category need to be examined further and then
expanded and refined in order to become realistic and meaningful. As this report is
being prepared American City Bureau believes that a campaign goal of $1.5 to $2
million is obtainable. The timely cultivation of selected lead gift prospects thought to
be supportive of the PAL programs would enhance the likelihood of success putting
a $2.5 to $3 million challenge goal within reach. American City Bureau would be
pleased to provide a proposal for staffing the project.
F. Once this report is accepted, American City Bureau will prepare a detailed timeline
and proposal for its implantation.
11
